Excellent book for learning software testing
This is clearly one of the best books to read if one wants to understand quality assurance practices in the current software industry. The book covers each aspect of testing, different kinds of testing methodologies and the variety of tests one needs to do to make the software world-class.

Software Testing Bible for Beginners
Good book for rookies trying to get their hands on software testing. Every type of testing out there is discussed in this book clearly, with simple examples. I recommend it to anybody trying out software testing from scratch.

Less numericals.........more theory
This book is good for study testing but it has few examples which makes it overall just a theory book.If you are interested in theory than you can buy this book.

Full of dead bugs.
I bought this book brand new and it came shrink wrapped. I'm on page 200 and I've already found about 5 dead bugs squished between the pages. I average about 1 bug / 50 pages. Disgusting, small, squished, dead bugs in between the pages.

This book is great for people with prior software knowledge
This book is great for people with prior software knowledge. I would recommend for anyone with software background that wants to learn more about testing. It is up to date with current technology and practices. As a software engineer I strongly recommend this book.

Book binding is horrible, contents pretty good
I purchased this book as part of a college course curriculum. The binding of this book is atrocious. For what it costs, especially, I should not be looking at a 90-day old book in which the first 200 pages have completely torn away from the binding and losing more every day. It is also a bit bizarre that, in an apparent attempt to save money, the text and all supporting graphics are in black and white with certain graphics repeated in color in an appendix at the very end, yuck! That said, the actual contents of the book are very well organized and written. The material is presented cohesively and in a non-intimidating way. The author is pretty good about avoiding or defining technical speak so that you don't get bogged down by vocabulary in trying to understand otherwise simple topics. Some of the side-stories are kind of cheesy but in a sort of endearing way that adds to the "dumbing down" of the material. There are a lot of good external references mentioned in the book at the end of each chapter as well as practical check lists and examples to use in the software testing process. I haven't read any other books on this topic so I have no real basis for comparison but so far it seems that I have grasped and learned everything I've needed from this book with only minor need for supplemental material.
