Great Quality and Sturdy...
I bought this bag for my 10 year old son. This is my second purchase of this same model bag as the first one flooded during hurricane Harvey. As a martial arts instructor myself, I prefer the Powerline model because it is a larger size than the original Wavemaster. This way it will handle stronger punches and kicks as my son develops his skills. The bag itself seems durable and should handle all the abuse without any rips. The base is large and can be filled with sand or water. I filled it with only four 50lbs of sand bags, and was enough to keep it in place for my son. It can be filled with more sand for heavier placement. A nice feature is the ability to adjust the height of the bag as needed.I'm a martial arts instructor myself and I recommend this bag to anyone looking for a sturdy punching bag made with great quality and priced right.

The Best Stress Relief EVER!!!
To start things off I must specify that I am not a fighter by any stretch of the imagination, I've never before trained in boxing, MMA or any other similar sport. But with that being said, I love this thing, it is proving to be a fantastic investment. It is a great work out and a fantastic way to let out that built up frustration. Since I've started working with it I have found that my stress levels have dropped significantly and it has put me in a all around better mood. After a great deal of comparison I am very pleased that I paid more and went with the Powerline series. If you were just going to use the bag for punching and want to save a few dollars you could consider going with the original but if you feel like you are ever going to want to throw some kicks into the mix you will greatly appreciate the extra padding of the Powerline. The service provided by the folks at "KarateJoe's" has been great. With regular updates of the transaction, they seem to truly care about distributing quality products with excellent customer service. (Sorry that sounds like crappy commercial dialogue, but it's true.)A note to all those who are like me and are new to this genre of training / exercise. I truly feel that taking some kind of class could be hugely beneficial, if not at the very least check out some youtube videos. You should also make sure you have the proper protective equipment meaning hand wraps and bag gloves. Otherwise I feel you could do some real damage to your wrists. I have personally purchased the actual hand wraps, they provide great support, but they are a hassle to get on and off, especially if I'm in a bad mood and just really want to beat the crap out of the bag. Because of this I would look into the glove style hand wraps instead, they seem to be a lot quicker to take on and off while still providing support. Even though they tend to be a few dollars more I think the time you'll save would be more than worth it.All in all if you are on the fence about buying this take the leap and do it, you won't regret it.

Too much padding for sparring gloves
The kickboxing gym I attend has wavemasters with less padding. I think that the powerline requires a heavier glove than the sparring gloves many might use at gyms for kickboxing/cardio classes. It is very dense with little to no give. As a smaller person, I wish I had gone with the regular padding. I'll just use different gloves, no real problem. Also, I filled mine with water for convenience. Water isn't quite enough, but I have the bag against a wall so it doesn't slide around and, as I said, I am small and not going to tip it over.

Great product at good price, but slides a bit
You really need to get a thick "non-slip" rubber mat under this, and even then plan for it to slide around a little bit (though then it's fine). When placed directly on carpet, it slides about 2 inches each time you punch it. After I got a 1/2 inch "non-slip" rubber mat under it, it now slips about an eighth of an inch each time I punch it. Also make sure you put the punching bag part high up enough that you are punching the middle of it most of the time. If you're punching within 2 inches of the top or bottom part, the edges start to fray a bit for some reason -- which was disappointing but seemed to stop getting worse once I made this change.

No complaints
This works. Seems to take a good beating. We've got three strong people hitting this thing almost everyday and it looks like new.It will move if you only put water in it. Most people who are looking for it to remain somewhat in place fill it with sand and water. That's going to weigh this down best. You should also place it on a surface that will slow its slide. I haven't tried this as yet but I'm considering placing strong Velcro to the bottom and then securing it to a piece of wood. It's worth the money. What I appreciate most is that I don't have to secure this to the house and listen to it shaking everything.

My new Self Defense Dummy
This is my first time buying a punching bag. I didn't want one that i had to mount on anything. The Self Defense place I go to actually uses this bag so I wanted to get the same one so I could practice till the next class. The foam is thick so easier to kick and punch without feeling the plastic. I filled this up with 200 lbs of sand it isn't going anywhere. This wasn't available on prime shipping but it got here fast. I ordered it on a Saturday night and it got here on the Wednesday. I'm impressed!

nice big punching surface, durable and big base to fill
Sturdy bag. I added (4) 50lbs sand bags and 8 gallons of water to the base - still could add more. I’m 5’7” and have no problem hitting this thing at all levels (depending on striking with hands or feet). Seems durable and the base is nice and big. Still “walks” on my gym floor (mat) when I’m hitting it repeatedly - I would recommend this

Perfect for kickboxing training!
It came on time in good condition which was great! I just filled it up today with two 50lb sand bags. I plan to add a third soon, but two still works pretty well. It doesn't move around as much as it just tips back a bit when I kick or punch hard. It's actually pretty satisfying. Perfect for kickboxing training!
