Playing ALPHA BANDITS is as simple as grabbing a friend (or three) and enjoying the power of anagramming, along with a healthy cup of deviousness! In this exciting and cutthroat word game, players race to score the most points by building words of three or more letters with double-sided letter tiles. But beware the ALPHA BANDITS! Those devious Bandit Tiles let players grab, flip, banish, swap, end round and block to win the game! With two levels of game play, you can choose how devious you want to play: BASIC GAME: Each letter and Gemstone in play is worth 1 point each. Score positive points by forming words of 3 or more letters. Get negative points for unused letters or for words of 2 or less. Get double word points (positive or negative) when you play one of the two rare Gemstone tiles. Points are added up at the end of each round, with the winner of the game receiving the most points after four rounds of play. ADVANCED PLAY: Players may elect to advance to higher levels of play by using the colors on each side to double a word score, by using a random game timer (not included), or by forming words in designated categories.

This has become a great family game for my 2 grandchildren (8 & 12) to play as a family activity. One plus is that when time is limited a game can be finished in about 20 minutes. They are loving it.

A Modern Classic.
This is the best word game to have come out in recent memory. Aside from the double sided tiles, the awesome masks to hide your tiles behind and the (sometimes) pesky Alpha Bandit tiles which can do things ranging from flipping tiles to even stopping that round prematurely, some of the best parts are in the game play. For example, everyone plays at the same time. That's right, you don't have to wait for your turn, it's always your turn. Also, hate it when you can only think of a small word and someone else plays a larger word. Doesn't matter, you can play multiple words in a turn, well two in a turn based on the rules that you have seven tiles and words must be at least three letters long. The black tiles are speak and stylish, they really stand out and are on the next level compared to other tiles from other games. Don't like Black tiles, or find them too hard to read? Then you can always buy the white tiles of the Alpha Bandits website. If you are looking for a word based game which anyone in the family (or friend group) can play with relative ease then Alpha Bandits is for you.I am going to call it, this one will become a classic in years to come.

Absolutely yes please!
I love word games, so this was an automatic go for me. It's like Bananagrams, with more interactivity, because players can steal other players' tiles as the game goes on--it adds an element of deviousness that Bananagrams lacks. The tile-stealing (or flipping or banishing or what-have-you) feels like a classic Wiggity Bang move, and I'm so glad that I've been able to play their newest game here. Definitely splurge (the extra $5) for this version of the game, which features beautiful double-sided tiles and an overall quality that's more upscale to the $20 version.

Brilliant word game!
If you love word games as much as I do, Alpha Bandits will feel like an undiscovered gem. An addictive little game in the genre of Bananagrams and Scrabble, players use loose tiles to create words and interact with each other by stealing and manipulating opponents letters. The perfect gift for bananagram lovers, this family game takes tile word play to another level, with alphabandits wreaking havoc at each turn! While easy to play, strategic thinkers will have a leg up as they create color patterns to double their score and banish key letters in another player's word. Love that there are different variations you can play and the quality of the game and its pieces! Indecently fun and a word-lovers dream game find!

The game is easy to play
I bought this version through the Kickstarter. It is also signed by the game's designers. The tiles are very well made and have both letters printed on them so you can see what the other side's letter is.The game is easy to play, quick-paced, and fun. The designers have many great games, I'd highly recommend Quelf (sold through another company now) and Quao.

Awesome new word game!
I'm a fan of word games, and this one brings playful new twists I've never seen before. Since everyone builds words at the same time (and can steal or swap opponents' tiles) it has a fun energy and fresh level of excitement that keeps you on your toes! The theme is really well captured throughout the gameplay as well as the components. Love the color palette and overall design. Super fun and fresh!
