Tru Sweets Organic Candy Canes, 10-Count Canes (Pack of 6)

My daughter is allergic to red 40. She gets rashes and hives if she eats candy or anything with this dye in it. But her FAVORITE candy are candy canes and she was heartbroken thinking she could not have candy canes anymore because of her allergy. I was relieved to find these for her. I was a little concerned since other reviews had mentioned them not having a strong enough peppermint flavor, so I ordered them and had her try one. She LOVES them! I am so pleased that I have found candy canes she can eat! The only drawback I found to this is the quantity they have to be ordered in, this will last my daughter a year! she just does not need so much candy, would have been nice to order just one or two boxes instead of six.

Four stars seems a bit high, while 3 seems too low, so four it is.These are organic and naturally colored with beet root juice which deserves a decent rating for this reason alone. But I've reduced a star because they need more peppermint flavor. They taste more like sugar with a very slight hint of peppermint that quickly disolves as you suck past the outer surface. I've had better tasting natural candy canes for sure, however these will make a nice addition to a Christmas tree or if making ornaments that call for candy canes.

These are just a bland candy/ sweet with no peppermint or other flavor which was really disappointing to myself and my six year old son. He wanted very badly to get some candy canes to decorate the tree and have a few treats but these tasted "boring" according to him.I have allergies to corn syrup and I cannot have typical candy canes even as a treat plus the worries about GMO and heavy metals in corn syrup. I don't like my son to have it either. I was excited to find these but I doubt I will buy them next year. I will find a candy cane like decorations next year or maybe try making our own.

The candy canes were delicious and the price was right, but half of the boxes were crushed and the candy canes were broken. It makes me wonder if the price was so low because these were second quality products because Amazon did a good job packing them, it was clear to me that the damage was done before they were packed to be shipped to me. I am unsure if I will buy them again.

ETA: Eating a regular candy can this second, after eating TruJoy exclusively for the past month. Regular candy cane tastes like trash. Overly minty, disgusting trash.So, SO good! ( ◠ڡ◠)These candy canes are just delicious.They are softly minty, and just the right amount of sweet. To me, they taste like what I think a peppermint cotton candy would taste like.I was concerned about buying so very many at one time, but... it isn't going to be an issue. Now I wish they were available in larger quantities.

They taste great and I like the fact that they don't have any artificial coloring or corn syrup. I can almost feel good about letting my kids have candy. They are expensive, but I'd rather pay more money for these than buy some high fructose corn syrup ones at the dollar store.

We went dye free this year and although the kids have been good sports about it I wanted to surprise them with candy canes for the tree. I ordered them and they got here quickly with prime shipping. Well packaged, none broken. The kids joyously put them on the tree then we all sat down to try them. The are SOOOOO good. Better then any candy cane I have ever had. Perfect medley between peppermint and sweet and nothing overpowering. Even my candy hating husband had 2!

My son is allergic to corn so no corn syrup. It is surprisingly difficult to find candy made with sugar! I bought these to decorate our Christmas tree so that he could enjoy them. We all loved them. There is something more pure about the taste. I had another regular corn syrup candy cane and it had a funny after taste to me. The only negative comment I heard from my kids was that the color wasn't as vibrant as "regular" candy canes. Didn't stop them from eating the 6 boxes we had on the tree! Highly recommend!
