Akubra Balmoral Hat - Natural

An excellent hat for the summer months. I use this Akubra primarily between late spring and early fall. I have another Akubra (felt Coober Peddy) for the cooler months. Material is hemp and is a lot tougher than straw. My size is 60 cm, but I purchased size 61 cm since size 60 cm wasn’t available. Fit is good but runs a little big. Easily rectified with the provided hat insert. In very humid and hot climates where I currently live, you’ll notice you’ll swear quite a bit up top. So a sweat band would be useful.

The hat itself is great, BUT, the 3 stars I gave it is only because the hat was very poorly packaged (shrink wrapped onto a flat piece of cardboard and then put in a plastic bag), and so it arrived partly smashed and the brim was cockeyed. I worked with it, steaming it, reshaping it, and got back much of the shape it was supposed to have, but clearly, the current way it is shipped from Amazon is very poor. As to the quality of the hat, it is a gorgeous hat, with a thicker than normal natural fiber, and should very durable and the leather hatband looks fabulous. I own other Akubra hats and the quality and look of everyone one of them is exceptional, in my opinion, they rank right next to Stetson, (which I also own numerous hats from).

Arrived sooner than expected and cannot say enough good things about the hat and the efficient fast service. My husband loves it and it look so good on him. Great quality hat.

This is a great hat. Just what I was looking for.
