Slime Bag Fill'r Up

This didn't really live up to the hype for me.My Pentair cartridge filter is supposed to filter to 10 microns.The slime bag to one micron.After running for well over a month, the material was only slightly gray, but there was no stuff inside.When I rinsed it as per instructions, I caught the drainage in a bucket.It wasn't the least bit cloudy. I let it settle for a week, it was clear as can be with nothing on the bottom...Maybe I just have nothing in my water that's betwen 1 and 10 microns.I'm not going to bother hooking it back up.==========Update 06/27/10I did hook it back up.I have some of the return flow from after the filter going through a garden hose to the bag in the pool.After about two weeks, there was a definite "tinge" to the material.I rinsed as per instructions. Again, I couldn't see anything coming off it, but the tinge went away and it was white again.Now, every week or so, I clean the tinge off/out.I'm not sure what it's getting, or if it's worth the minor inconvenience of cleaning it every week, but the color tells me it'sgrabbing something that the filter cartridge isn't.

It definitely works but it takes a lot of work to clean them. It does take a lot of the debris out of the water The iron.

We were having an issue prior with small debris getting past the filter. Since using the slime bag our pool water it's the clearest it's ever been.

This does what it says. The opening is a little small, therefore hard to get the hose into. It probably won't last longer than one pool season.

Love these. No more silt in pool, catches particulate. Water is crystal clear all the time even after heavy rains.

I BOUGHT THIS BAG TO CLEAN THE SMALL PARTICLES THAT MY FILTER WASN'T PICKING UP AND WORKED FINE FOR THE FIRST 30 MINUTES THAN ALL THE STICHES FROM ONE SIDE CAME OUT, THE WHOLE BAG BLOW UP.THE IDEA AND THE MATERIAL WORKS, BUT NEEDS SOME REENGINEERING ON PUTTING THE MATERIALS TOGETHER.I STITCHED THE WHOLE OPEN SIDE BY HAND; STICHT BY STITCH, WITH A THICKER AND STRONGER THREAD AND NOW IT IS WORKING FINE.

I am quite disappointed in the Slimebag. It did not filter out much at all and didn't clear our pool water in the least bit and besides the connection to the pool is cumbersome and the bag removal leaves most of the trapped particulates back in the pool. I was the sucker who bought one.
