API The World's First Anti Fingerprint Oleophobic Coating Kit Fusso SmartPhone

I have had the coating on my iPhone 4S for 6 weeks now, and overall I'm very happy. I'm not going to say that it works as well as the oleophobic from the factory. Nevertheless, I do think it makes a big difference. The original coating had worn off completely from my phone, and with it worn away my phone was a complete mess. It seemed like every time I touched it it was completely covered in prints from my fingers, palm, and even face. Moreover, when I would try to wipe the phone clean, it seemed like the prints would just get smeared around. It really detracted from my enjoyment of the phone.Now that I have the oleophobic coating restored, using this product, the phone looks great. It is very fingerprint resistant, and stays much cleaner. Furthermore, its surfaces wipe clean quite easily, and the glass is left shining nicely.I reviewed the included instructions and the online video, and followed these directions precisely. I also applied the product quite liberally. I went further by wearing latex gloves while handling the phone during application, to avoid contaminating the surface with my skin oil. I think the directions are easy enough. My recommendation is don't be cheap with the product.I'm giving 4 stars because I think the price is a tad high at $25. I also think that the results aren't quite equal to the factory coating. All in all, though, I think it was worth purchasing the product, and I am happy with the results.

I've applied this about 3 times to my screen (followed instructions very closely too) and every time, it starts to wear off after a few days of use, most notably in areas near the middle of the screen. I have a phone with a curved glass screen (Galaxy Nexus). Maybe that has something to do with it, I don't know. But the effect of this just isn't all that durable. For $25, I don't recommend it.

The coating lasted less than a week after the final application. I applied it every night before I went to sleep so it would have the recommended eight hours undisturbed to cure. I made five applications to my Nexus 5 screen and within a week of the final application the coating was almost completely removed. To apply I used the recommended number of drops and then used a plastic card to spread out the coating to make sure the whole screen was covered. I'm disappointed that this was so expensive and so useless.

I noticed a few scratches on the screen of my still pretty new Samsung Galaxy S 3 a week or two ago, and I was extremely perplexed. Thinking that the scratches must somehow be in the glass of the screen itself, I did some research and ordered some cerium oxide to polish them away. What I quickly realized while polishing my screen however was that though I was clearly rubbing something away, it wasn't the glass, it was the oleophopbic coating on top of the glass. When I noticed this I immediately stopped. Though many of my scratches had been removed, I was instead stuck with a rather large circular area towards the middle of my screen that was both less smooth and attracted far more fingerprints than the rest.Fast forward to me finding this product. I was fairly skeptical at first as I had never heard of a do it yourself oleophobic coating in all my message board readings, nor were there any user reviews or reputable articles on the web describing how well this product worked. However, I purchased it anyway and after it arrived quickly in the mail, I followed the instructions and after just one night of adding the coating, the area where I had rubbed it off is seemingly completely restored. After a few more nights of coating, my entire screen in fact feels a good amount slicker.My only complaints are that as most of the writing both on and in the box is in Japanese, it is a little hard to understand exactly how to use it. There is a video on youtube describing better how to apply it, but I found that it was not quite complete. When applying, in order to spread around the coating it is important to not use a cloth that is too absorbent as this will remove most of the coating before it adhears to the screen. What I ended up doing was simply applying the drops to the screen and then tilting the phone itself without rubbing the screen until it had all dried and then applying the next coat. Also, it only comes with a very small amount of the coating, which is a little disappointing, but it should be more than enough for at least one device. Overall, I am very satisfied.TLDR: Really good product, worth the money if you want to replace an oleophobic coating.

I followed the directions exactly, but the coating doesn't last. It's good for 3 or 4 weeks then it's back like it was. It's good while it lasts though.

When I bought my iPhone 5, I immediately placed it into an Element Spec Ops Case and installed a Spigen Glas.t screen protector (gorilla glass sapphire hardness) on it. This combo has served well until very recently where it seems the coating of the Spigen protector has worn off and smudges, gunk builds up very quickly. Also, when first installed the Spigen Glas.t protector was silky smooth and almost felt invisible! The Spigen product is amazing by itself! But, all things wear out eventually and I decided rather than attempting to remove the Spigen protector, I'd re-coat it with this product first to see how it worked. Overall, I am very satisfied with the function and performance of this coating. After careful application, following the directions to the letter, I have successfully restored the coating to what feels like it's original state. The amount of solution/coating in the bottle is tiny, and doesn't go as far as I would have liked, resulting in the 4 star rating. Had the bottle contained twice the amount of solution/coating, I'd have easily rated it 5 stars. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and impressed with the performance of the coating.
