Magic Slate by Tobar

Got excited when I saw it and broke my cardinal rule of reading reviews and doing my research. Should have just handed a stranger on the street $10! I hate being ripped off and wasteful spending. DON’T BUY! Major disappointment.

This was horrible. It's not just small, it's tiny. And when you write on it, the words disappear right away.

Not the same quality as when I was a child.

This is not the Magic Slate of our childhood. It is too tiny to be useful. I do not recommend this item.

The dimensions given in the description seem to refer to the packaging, and not the item itself, it was far too small for what we wanted.In addition the backing board is very flimsy and so it is hardly possible to use like a 'slate'. If anything it might be described as a flimsy magic bit of cardboard. We were very dissatisfied.

It is smaller than my little finger LOL! My bad I dint go through the spec and I doubt if this would be useful for anyone! :|

Inadequate crap!

I write this review by way of a warning perhaps, I had been looking for a magic slate style toy remembering having a great one when I was little which was really pretty endurable. Having recently heard a story of how Freud used one to describe his concept of the unconscious (the base plate) and conscious (surface plate) I went online to see what was available on Amazon.This is really just the size of something you would get free in a Christmas Cracker as a novelty so I was a little disappointed, it is size of a book of stamps, arrives in a small plastic film pocket and the stencil isnt attached so could get easily lost (this would be a choking hazard for younger children). The surface plate is attached to the back board with a single small staple in the top, I could see a child accidentially tearing this apart and then wondering "Were's the fun in that?".For the money its pretty much what I'd expect perhaps, although factor in the cost of postage when ordering because its much more than the magic slate itself.
