It worked well and I have had no issues with it whatsoever. The case itself seems to be sufficiently sturdy. Some points which might be useful:- It comes with a small screwdriver to use screwing the case close; although the screws are very small and fit very tightly, it was adequate for the job. Note however that the HD itself does NOT screw into place, but is just held by friction.- I've been used to SATA drives and forgot how flimsy the little pins on PATA drives are; its VERY easy to bend them when installing this product, so be careful. (This is not a flaw in the product per se, just a fact of these small 2.5" drives)- The USB cable requires two USB jacks to provide enough power; this is normal for these external enclosures as far as I know. The only odd thing in this case is that the enclosure itself takes the LARGE size USB plug; the size which normally ends up in the PC. My other enclosure took a normal small size plug and I have been able to use it without the Y connector; this would not be possible with this enclosure.Anyway, for $6.73 including shipping, it seems like a great value to me.All the best!-----------Update July 25 2011It seems a different seller is now fulfilling this item (used to be from HDE); I had ordered a second one but a totally different (and not as nice) item showed up instead. Buyer beware! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars It works, at the very least *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2011* This device has a poor quality case, with screws that almost work. I wouldn't recommend this for someone wanting to turn a laptop hard drive into portable storage, as the durability would be highly suspect. If true portability and reliability is needed, buy a reputable brand enclosure.It did work satisfactorily in letting me back up data from an old laptop drive. It's not a graceful solution, but it is very cheap. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, and too cheap to complain about *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2010* For the ~$4 I paid, I wasn't really expecting much, but this enclosure is very easy to use and does its job well. The only issue is that the enclosed screws are tiny (smaller than the tip of a ballpoint pen), and the enclosed screwdriver is too big to use with them. One of the screw holes (in the plastic) is too big for the screws, and the other one I didn't screw all the way in for fear of stripping it, but honestly the case holds together decently without them.
