The top thread runs off a bobbin at the side of the machine - this has to be re-wound when empty. The bottom thread is in the usual place on a second bobbin. After reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant to buy it but so glad I did. It works well for small jobs. I’ve been using it to make face masks for family and friends. It will tangle if the tension is not set correctly so it is important to ensure this is correct on a scrap piece of material before actual sewing. It comes with the tension already set which is helpful and a scrap piece of material within the machine and threading done. It just requires small changes after this depending on the thickness of material you’re stitching.
