Good for looks, not as practical as it seems
I've had this pack for a few months now, and at first I REALLY liked it. It looked good, had plenty of hand holds, and was versatile between the shoulder strap and backpack straps. I got this backpack to carry a 13" macbook and any folders of papers that I have to carry home from the office (which are not that many, ~3cm thick).Unfortunately, the more that I used the pack, the more I noticed pretty big design flaws.1.) The zippers are poorly made and poorly designed. The zipper that surrounds the leather pouch can be difficult to unzip. This didn't bother me too badly at first, but the more I use the pouch, the more I notice just how long it takes me to get it to zip around the corners. The zipper that opens the main pouch, although as not messed up yet, is pretty flimsy.2.) The inside material rips very easily. This was truly surprising to me given how 'rugged' the outside is. Just a reminder, I'm only carrying a small amount of office supplies (e.g. papers, computer, pencils) in this thing.3.) The handle that is next to the zipper that opens the main pocket loosens the buckle straps whenever you use it to lift the bag. Not a big deal, just means that you don't use that handle if you have tighten the buckles down.4.) Lastly, the part that bothers me the most about this product is the shoulder strap. The first shoulder strap broke during the winter. I thought that maybe the cold had caused the brass to be more brittle. I contacted the seller, and they were very quick to apologize and send a new strap. They also took time in their message to quickly say that they were using a different type of metal on the zippers and straps to fix this issue. I thought this was pretty good and was super thrilled that they had already known about the problem and tried to fix it. The new strap lasted even less time than the first.Overall I would say that this product looks rugged and like it could handle a bit of stress, but there are some design flaws and cheap materials used under the surface.

The idea was great and the canvas was perfect it was a zipper issue.
I purchased this back pack on March 29th 2016 to replace my old backpack which had issues with the zipper. As you can see I have had it now about a month or so. It is very versatile and the design is wonderful. I found the overall idea to be exactly what I was looking for. However after sometime I have found that the zipper is not as strong as it states and the zipper does not hold and stay or remain close. I now can only use the bag as a bag and not as a backpack which is what I really wanted. I am hoping that this is just a one off. The bag itself is made out of Canvas it seems to be heavy duty. The pockets on the inside of the bag are made for the messenger bag not specifically for the backpack option as the pockets face sideways. This is not a bad thing but if you want to use the bag specifically for the backpack option it may not be helpful if your items keep falling out. I was a bit disappointed and would not recommend to my family or friends as I think the bag/ zipper should be of higher quality. The service on returning this item was excellent and I should say again it could have been just a odd issues with this specific backpack. The idea was great and the canvas was perfect it was a zipper issue.

Excellent Backpack
Wasn't expecting too much, but was surprised to find this to be a really excellent backpack. Rugged materials and rugged fasteners and zippers. Good size--not too big or bulky but enough room for what I need to carry. Easy to open and close pockets (with one exception, item 3 below). Rides and fits VERY well as a backpack--comfortable! I've been very impressed by the ergonomics of the design. Multiple strong handles in all the locations you need to pick it up quickly and securely from any position. The ability to easily switch to a shoulder bag is convenient and well thought out. Three things to note:1) I'm carrying a 15.4" MacBook Pro. There's ample room in the bag for this, but it--with a thin case on it--just barely fits through the zipper opening to the inside. To fit it requires a bit of a twist. This is ok, but I would be carful about trying to fit in any laptop much larger.2) The wacky Chinglish writing on the back is more amusing than anything else. Someone would have to get very close to actually read it in any case.3) The compartment on the back, with the sort of hooded flap over it, is a bit of a pain. It adds a few extra seconds of jiggery pockery every time you time you open and close this. Considering this backpack's other excellent qualities, I can accept this and still call it 5 stars.Very pleased with this backpack!

maybe ok for light duty, but not much else.
first of, i really like the aesthetics of this bag. i was looking for something a little funky with a nice style for a recent trip to london and dubai. the bag arrived quickly and the style was great.however.. the bag was not large enough to fit my 15" macbook pro in the padded laptop/tablet pocket. this wasn't the end of the world (but it would have been nice if the description stated what size laptops it could hold). the bag was awesome for the london leg of my trip. the should straps were wide and comfortable. it has many pockets for storing travel items and it looked great.after a week of use, the teeth in the main zipper started to disengage and there were several times i had to unzip the zipper and re-zip it before it would stay closed. frustrating, but nothing compared to the zipper pull tab coming off in my hands when i tried to re-close the bag after going though security at heathrow. this made the bag useless and i had to buy an overpriced backpack in the duty free shop.if they replaced the zipper with a heavy duty metal one and made the bag slightly larger i would be all about it. unfortunately, it's not very robust and i can't recommend it.
