Sent to the market by his uncle to sell their horse and buy thatch for their roof, Jack meets the beautiful Princess Isabelle, whom he rescues from ruffians. He returns home with only a handful of beans given to him by a monk who claimed they were sacred, but that does little to impress his uncle, who tosses them away. In the night, the Princess arrives, having run off to keep herself from marrying Roderick, who is clearly only interested in becoming king. Soon, the beans take root with a giant stalk carrying away the princess and Jack's house. He soon sets off on an adventure with the king's guards to rescue the princess, only to find that a mythical land filled with giants really exists.

Details and pictures quality.
Well I already have the video on DVD. But since I purchased a 4k TV I wanted to see this movie in a better clarity. The blue ray version definitely delivered on that. The giants look more real than before. Even the scene where the giant ate the booger was gross and I almost vomited. Well it was Great to say the least. Great purchase need a great TV to get the most from your Blue Rays. I have a 850 4k Sony 65".

I love this movie I watched it at my grandparents house and wanted my own copy of the movie. Was delivered in excellent condition and have watched it several times with my brothers. One of our favorite movies now.

Nicholas Hoult is Jack the Giant Slayer
Good entertainment for the whole family. Pretty good version of Jack and the Beanstalk, with Nicholas Holt, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane and a short appearance by Eddie Marsan. (2013,114 mins. Blu-Ray and DVD included, in either English, French or Spanish languages with respective subtitles)

Fantastic Fun For Me..
"Jack The Giant Slayer"is a whole lot of fun for the family viewing, really what elsecan be furthest from the truth,i just love these type of movies,if you can't transformyourself for under two hours, into a fantasy world then there is no hope for you,i can'tbelieve Director [Bryan Singer] did such a wonderful job of it,got to give the props to theCGI department Wow,it all look so dam real the woods and the trees just come to life on mySharp Aquos four colour system, but just one note if you do not have a surround system witha sub-woofer you absolutely can not enjoy the full impact of the movie,to hear the Giant's Roareven their step is like earth-shattering,even the eyes look so real it's unbelievable astounding,i just wish it was longer i didn't want it to stop, and i love the Afro Giant, very funny.A note,If anyone of you people know [Bill Nighy] see if you can recognize him bet you can't.DTS-HD-Master Audio. Wow & Wow.Widescreen 2.4:15.1 Dolby Digital.Runtime 114 Minutes.Fantastic Fun For Me..

A good telling of a classic tale
I'm a collector so I was happy to see this title available through Amazon as I had only seen it previously on the premium Movie channels. In my opinion this is a wonderful new telling of the classic story and while the CG and special effects are somewhat lacking from time to time a good popcorn movie.I can't say your order will be the same, but I was pleasantly surprised that the copy I received was the Blu Ray/DVD version, even though it was not marked on the packaging so I'm guessing it was old retail stock that simply had the cardboard sleeve removed It also had a UV digital download code which had expired a while ago but I was still able to redeem.Again, certainly not a summer block buster but a good telling of a classic story.

Excellent family film
Excellent family film, retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk, excellent special effects of the giants. Nicholas Holt and Eleanor Tomlinson, great couple. Ian McShane as king and Stanley Tucci, great campy villain. Ewan McGregor very effective as the protector. Loved the movie and would recommend it to all.
