(PM 2001 S 10 lbs) 1/2" 90 Degree Mount Magnetic Catch

Poor quality finish
The chrome plating on the magnets was flaking off. Because I intended to use them in a fairly visible location, I decided they were too ugly for my planned use.

Worked great
I have these on most of my kitchen cabinet doors. Effective at preventing doors swinging open by themselves. Also helps keep the dog from opening the cabinet with the trash can. For a boat you probably want the stronger version, but in my house I started with 20lbs and it was too much. You do have to install them so they line up, if you can't do that they won't work as good.

Keeps drawers shut.
Had 2 forward facing drawers in our camper that always opened when we were traveling. This solved that problem.

Try something else...
Magnets fall out or flip around and stand on edge. Need a bit of adhesive to keep the magnets secure

Three Stars
is not very strong, the 10 lbs I imagine if they are together, but interior is good

It was not - the connection formed is poor and effectively trivial
I saw video demonstrating the strength of the 40 lb magnets, so I thought 10 lbs might be sufficient. It was not - the connection formed is poor and effectively trivial. I would suggest at least a 20 lb magnet, and more likely the 40 lb magnets, since depending on your use you might not get an exact seal.
