Gnomes: #1 Bestseller - First Edition 1976 Unknown Binding

So very pleased to be able to find a 1st edition and in such great shape for a reasonable price. My daughter-in-law wanted this particular book because it was something her grandma had in her house when she was little Filled with so many memories for her. I, personally, am not a troll fan but found the book very interesting and beautiful fun illustrations. Just paging through I learned several things about trolls that I had never heard before. Thank you to the seller that gave this up.

Overall Feedback: Incredible story for all ages that includes a great storyline, fantastical characters and can be applied to certain industries in our real world (oil). As the reader you will be lost in the world created instantly and will voraciously read your way to the end.Point of View: Guessing that Gnomes are becoming mainstream again and once again you experience their story from their viewpoint.Voice: In reading this you can piece together the cry out of the injustice being served both in the world created by the story and in the real world.Character Development: Gnomes, who doesn't love them. Evil billionaires, who doesn't hate/envy them.Plot: The author does a great job to create a story around an idea that has been around for awhile but making the idea her own.Dialogue: I so want a real life gnome.Pacing: The story moves you along without missing anything in the details.Setting: Fantasy at its best.Continuity: A few places where you start to leave the story but nothing that will cause you to lose interest.

This book was a thorough enjoyment.There is angst, treachery, greed, inadvertent mistakes, misplaced assistance, even destruction of a village. But none was so serious or presented so adamantly that it canceled the reading enjoyment. Instead, they are necessary for the story.There is also laughter, love, solutions, community, and the delivery of the perfect comeuppance.It's a fun book.

I purchased this book as a gift for Christmas. I was surprised to get it before Christmas! However, a little disappointed in the fact that it was a used book and the first couple pages fell out. I did not realized that the book was used, nor did I see anything stating that it was used. BUT the main thing is that the recipient of the gift loved the book.

I have to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was absolutely magical. There were parts that made me want to cry. There were parts that made me laugh. And there were lots of parts that left me on the edge of my seat waiting for more. I read the entire book in one sitting because I couldn't bare to "put it down". That is a figure of speech since I was reading on my Kindle for PC, but it is no less true. My only critique is that the formatting was a bit off. The lines didn't wrap properly. But, like I said, I was on my Kindle for PC, so it may have been entirely on my end. Hopefully, you won't have the same problem. None the less, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to add a little magic to their day. Enjoy!
