Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani

This film could have been better, but it just failed in so many areas.A nice title but the story did not live up to it. The concept of two people with the same speech problem falling in love would have been a cute love story if it had been done better.But this film became so hard to watch, I honestly ended up fast forewarding through the film and stopping to hear the dialogue in a plot point scene.However, not even Katrina Kaif could save this film. In a few films, she shows real talent like in "Bang Bang" (2015) and Ek tha Tiger (2010). But most of the time she plays a mischievous bad girl that just wears little clothing to be a flirt. She is like the Cameron Diaz of Bollywood.In this film, she plays an adopted orphan to a rich family and has a speech problem, who at first likes a rich man. But then somehow walks away from the rich son of a politician for an con artist (Ranbir Kapoor).I am sorry, but I just did not see why the girl was interested in either man. The story lacked character emotional development. It just seemed like it was a string of comedic rountines.The comedy rountines of Ranbir Kapoor are styled after Charlie Chaplain, which people either like or they don't.Actors should try to be one of a kind original, copying the style of a well known actor is like cheating off someone else's work and efforts.There is a difference between paying respect to an actor and trying to copy their work for your career.First, Ranbir Kapoor's character and his friends kidnap rich girls to marry poor boys. FYI - Kidnapping girls is what villians do.Second, he scams a store owner into letting him and his friends hang out in his shop.Third, he lives off of lying and connig his meals off of others. And he does not even help his parents out around his house or respect his parents.Since when are the leading men characters of films/stories, men who have no ambitions to have a career and work. Do they really expect to live off mom and dad for the rest of their life?Most people work hard to have a better life, and hope one day to be weaithy.Ranbir Kapoor continues to play lying con artist type of characters, which are just not likable characters. Most people avoid lying con artists.This film gets one star for the cameos of "Jesus" and Salman Khan.Toward the end of the film, A pick up truck driver, who looks like "Jesus" asks Ranbir Kapoor's character for directions, in the story it is like God guiding the character back onto the right path.About an hour into the film, Ranbir Kapoor's character has been lying saying he is friends with Salman Khan to impress people. Then Salman Khan really shows up in the town. Katrina Kaif's character calls out for Salman to come over to talk to his "friend". When Ranbir Kapoor's character drops to his knees to beg Salman Khan not to expose his lie. Salman Khan's reaction to protect his "family jewels" really says a lot. Then Salman Khan is classy and plays along to try be a Cupid.However, Salman Khan's cameo only made me want to leave this film when he leaves the scene, to watch one of his films to see a better romance story and better characters.The good parts of this film could have been edited to a fifteen minute short film.The main characters were not likable and Katrina Kaif was just a pretty face to try and make Ranbir Kapoor look good.Honestly, Ranbir Kapoor just is not playing characters with likable personalities and the films he acts in are just not good stories that are entertaining for audiences.Overall, the only scenes worth watching were the cameos of "Jesus" and Salman Khan. In the future, I will be avoiding a Ranbir Kapoor film no matter which other big name actor is in it.

It's so good, I'll compare it with the likes of la la land. Great story, humor, direction and.. what's the word.. happiness, such movies are really only few in numbers.

I hated this film! Took it on a recent trip and watched it with my sister-her first Bollywood film. I was so embarrassed at my bad taste in movies! We did laugh in spite of ourselves, but I was seriously disappointed in how stupid it was. I had selected it because of the gorgeous music video-set in Turkey I think-with Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor. That is the only redeeming quality of the film! The rest is more like unsophisticated slapstick- not my cup of tea!

This movie was straight heat. Amazing script and perfect cinematography. Makes Tarantino look like a child.

Thank goodness for the English subtitles. I love this movie!It came when expected. I am very satisfied with what was sent to me even though the dvd was floating in the case when it arrived. It plays to the full so I'm not really complaining.

joke of a bollywood movie, the plot made no sense and deviated with random clown villains and no actual romance

Cutest movie ever! Was a little cheesy at times but great none the less! :) if you're a hopeless romantic, this is the movie for you!!
