Marvelous Story
I loved it! So painful, but also so joyful. Deeply satisfying and unsettling at the same time. It's the story of a relationship between two people who are really one, set in a Jamaica I know and don't know, and about Jamaicans who are both familiar and unfamiliar.

Excellent read!
I'm still reading, and I'm already thoroughly impressed. Curdella is a masterful storyteller. I love the way she weaves the two languages much like the way magic and 'reality' are woven together in the story. Wholehearted endorsement over here!

Complex and wonderful mnemonic read
Just finished and need time to process, sign of a great book. Read it yourself and learn something. Worth the effort.

A must read
Magical in so many ways, brilliant prose, makes Jamaica come alive. Wish I could give it five stars, but it did have a few slow spots. I look forward to the author’s next novels.
