After you get this you will feel like throwing your hot knife in the trash
After you get this you will feel like throwing your hot knife in the trash. Works incredibly well on the plastic and illustration board I've been cutting, for months now. And I'm running it directly from a US 110V outlet - no convertor and no problem. Keep the blade screw tight! If you hear it squeak, that means that screw is loose, and it will overheat.

Broke in a Couple Months - Vendor Would Not Replace
This piece of junk broke within a couple months; stopped working completely. Couple hundred dollars down the drain. I reached out to the seller and they would not replace since it broke after 30 days (but well before a year). Horrible customer service. DO NOT BUY.

About 5 minutes
I probably used mine for a total of 5 minutes of on time at the cutter tip before I heard a pop and saw smoke exiting the base unit. The smoke smelt like burnt garlic. Amazon's return process is pretty straightforward and painless.While it worked; the tip cut well and I could see me using the knife to make small project boxes out of plastic.

Not for fabric cutting/sealing
Not for cutting fabric. It won't seal the edge after cutting.

It cuts good. But, if cutting plastic don't plan on trying to put things back together afterwards. The pieces end up looking like they were melted.

Work Well
Works well for cutting open molded or welded components for failure investigations. Fuses are a little difficult to find need to go to a speciality store. Have 3 of them in our lab.

Efficient plastics cutting
We cut a lot of plastics in my dental office. This simplifies making retainers, bleaching trays, night guards, etc. No smoke, no heat, no mess.
