Not as sensitive as FRER, but
I am currently doing IVF and bought these because I knew if I was to test before my beta I would want to test everyday! I took one this morning at 6 days past a 5 day transfer (which is the equivalent of about 11 dpo, or 3 days before my missed period) and thought I saw the faintest of lines, so I re-tested with a First Response early response test in the same urine and got a very clear positive. I often use these cheap tests (both the ovulation and pregnancy versions) to decide if I should use a more expensive test to confirm and I think it's a great use for them. I have especially done this with ovulation tests - I use a cheap strip and if it looks positive I use a digital test to confirm. I was surprised at how much better the result showed up on the FRER, and that's why I gave this product only 3 stars. Both tests claim to do the same thing, but obviously the FRER did a much better job for me (although at a much higher price). I've included a picture so you can see for yourself! These tests were dipped within about 5 minutes of each other, about 4 hours before I took this picture, from the same cup of urine.

Misleading claims - false negatives on early tests
My problem with this product is the misleading and confusing claims for those trying to detect early pregnancy:>Do NOT expect an accurate result 5 days before missed period - perhaps around or slightly after your missed period (from my experience).>That first positive (around the time of your missed period, again by my experience) will likely be VERY faint. No mention of this in the packaging/instructions anywhere (which just show two clear dark lines or one clear dark line). These did NOT give me an accurate test 5 days before my missed period. In fact, I had clear false negatives (no hint at all of a second line) at 5 days and 2 days. On the day when my period would have been due, I got just the very faintest hint of a line at the edges - my husband and I were both squinting at it going, 'uh, well, I don't know.' Not exactly the 'we're pregnant!' moment you picture. Two days later I got a very very faint line, but a line all the way through that I felt reasonably confident was a positive result. Now that I'm several weeks pregnant I've taken a couple (since I have a 25-pack - they are a good value in that sense) and yes, I get two clear and strong lines. A lot of the reviews here, you will note, are from women who know that they are / are not pregnant and found the test confirms this - so these are not useless (hence two stars). However, if you are trying to learn if you have just become pregnant, the claims this product makes are unacceptably inaccurate and confusing.(1)

Finally showing an obvious line
These are useless for "early" testing, or at least they were in my case. I used these with first morning urine (FMU) in the days leading up to the day of my expected period and there was no hint of a line, even the day before my expected period. I didn't test the day my period was expected. On Sunday, the day after my expected period (it was due Saturday), I tested with this test strip, a Clearblue Plus pregnancy test, and a First Response Early Result pregnancy test. I got strong positives on both the Clearblue and First Response tests, but only a very slight watermark for a test line on this test. I'm now three days past my expected period date and out of curiosity, took this test again this morning with FMU. I got a faint pink line now.I should mention also that I have a 30-day cycle on average and I was tracking my ovulation with testing kits. I ovulated later than what is typical for the average woman (day 19 approximately), so this should be weighed in consideration of determining whether this test is good for early testing or not. No test can pick up on pregnancy until implantation takes place, of course. HOWEVER, with that being said, this test still didn't show a line the day after my missed period, when other tests gave me positives.

No question, these work! Must have for trying to conceive!
For this price I thought I was getting so many because maybe they didn't work the best? WRONG! We tried for eight years to conceive and during the third round of fertility I bought these in bulk, as anyone who goes through infertility knows you use a lot of these. I ended up getting a positive after only using two. So I had a lot left over and it was good because I was in shock that I had a positive, I ended up using every single test, (except one that my husband took which, he came back negative, lol so I knew they were working) just to make sure it was real. My daughter will be four in February 2017 :-) I haven't bought these again because eleven months later I went to the doctor for something unrelated to pregnancy (so I thought anyway) and was discovered to be pregnant without ANY idea, or fertility drugs! Good luck ladies! I pray for double pink lines, your successful pregnancies and bundle of joy!

These do not work!!!! I took ...
These do not work!!!! I took 2 this morning at 13 dpo, because my gut told me I should get a BFP, but they were both negative. Not the faintest line! Unconvinced, I went out and bought a couple of different brand tests at the store and both came back CLEARLY positive. Do not rely on these tests!Update: I'm increasing the rating from 1 to 3 stars because I tested again at 14 DPO and got a faint but clearly visible line. I still don't think these should be advertised as 'early' tests since I saw nothing yesterday (the day my period was due) but since they seem to be working now they weren't a complete waste of money. I will use them to test over the next several days and see if my HCG is rising.

better cheep tests out there
These test work. I don't know if I would consider them early though. I bought along with these test Walmart 88 cent test and Clear Blue Week Estimator. I had found that TrueStick was the light line of all which looked like an evaporated line more than positive. I had a miscarried my last pregnancy (it was not progressing from the start) so this pregnancy I had continued test to make sure the little one was doing fine. The 88 cent one are so much better that I will probably stick to those instead of buying the stick or at least this brand. I like Clear Blue because I knew in words that I was pregnant and that I was progressing in weeks.
