On a med 7-8 my son is 11 will it fit

i dont think, the size 7-8 is for kids about 8 years, to a boy of 11 years i thinks you need to find a next size.

I hear this runs small. So what size do you get for a child who will be 8 in Oct. ? Thanks

How would this fit on a shorter 7 year old?

Wouldn’t be a problem. My grandson is an average 6yr old and it’s adorable on him. I still need to sew/purchase the gold pants. Too cute

Are there pants attached to the tunic?

Hi Davida,Thank you for your inquiry. The pants are not included in the costume. It only comes with the tunic top, belt, hat and boot covers.CitadelOfficial Costumes Customer Service
