Perfect for MSX Computers — Including Yamaha MSX2+
I own several MSX computers, including a Yamaha MSX2+ KUVT model. These machines have RGB ports, so I made several RGB to SCART cables following the proper specs. However, when I tried using basic SCART-to-HDMI converters from Amazon, nothing worked correctly. The image was unstable or didn’t show up at all. Then I tried this OSSC and it worked immediately, right out of the box! I was honestly amazed. I had started to think the problem was the MSX RGB port OR my soldering skills, since none of my cables worked with the other converters. It turns out the real issue was those cheap converter boxes. This OSSC SCART box works flawlessly and brings out a clean, sharp, and incredibly stable image from my MSX machines. I’m attaching photos of the first cable I made. In the photo, you can see the Japanese version of the Yamaha MSX. I will also update this review as I continue testing the box further. Five (5) stars! It simply works and works beautifully. Thank you!

Good value for it
Seems great after a day of use. The PSU is low quality but you can easily change out if wanted.

Great value, breathes new life into classic consoles
This upscaler works fantastic. I was a bit skeptical when I first purchased it, but after using it for months I can absolutely say I’m satisfied. Out of the box, the remote didn’t work consistently. That said I was surprisingly able to fix this by pressing the remote face-down on my desk firmly. I believe a connection was loose, and that solved it. The built in options are great, and the build quality feels solid. I can’t say I’d feel great about dropping it or stacking anything heavy on it, but you can tell it’s decently constructed. The sound and video quality are great. Input lag is basically nonexistent, at least in my experience. My original Nintendo Wii was given new life, and I’ve finally been able to enjoy using it on modern 4k displays. Overall: works great (-1 star due to the remote situation), feels decently solid for what it is, and has lasted me at least several months of sustained use. Just make sure you do your research on what connections and cables you need for certain outputs and you’re all set.

Works great!
It works easily out of the box using a SCART cable, and there is a LOT of functionality beyond the basics you can tap if you’re savvy enough. Tested on my PS2 with immediate results. RGB input is REQUIRED; N64 users in an NTSC region will need to mod their consoles. Pictures are OEM composite output cables directly to TV and then through the Mcbazel OSSC using a SCART cable.

Disappointed – No Support from Manufacturer
The OSSC itself seems to be a solid product in theory, but my experience has been very frustrating. The unit I received came with a non-functioning remote, which is essential to operate the device. I contacted the manufacturer immediately to request a replacement remote, but I never received a response. They’ve stopped answering my emails altogether. Now my return window has closed, and I’m stuck with a device I can’t use. While I’ve found third-party remotes online, I shouldn’t have to spend extra money to make a brand-new product functional. Bottom line: The product might work fine—if you’re lucky—but don’t count on any help if something goes wrong. No warranty, no support, no accountability. Buyer beware.

For PS2; WiI, Gamecube this device has brought new beauty.
After buying the OSSC converter I have been playing through my entire library if PS2; WiI, Xbox and Gamecube. You must get the SCART cable to really see how much this can do. I absolutely love love love this product. I have been enjoying it every day. To see how good many (not all) games really look is astounding. Some games that were badly made, no graphics will make them a better game. Games that were higher production quality to begin with shine! I can’t believe I waited so long. Don’t hesitate if you’re thinking of making this purchase. Just don’t forget to get the SCART cable, and set youPS2 to RGB in the setting. It takes a little playing around to discover how to manipulate the image, but once you get it. Boom! Games like Shinobi, Nightshade, Drakkengard, Pokemon Coleseum get new life.

Bring your old videogame consoles to life!
I've tried a ton of options to get my ps2 to look good on my modern TV. My journey ended with this purchase. If you want your retro consoles to not look dark and muddy on your new tv and you don't want to break the bank, then give this a try. You won't be disappointed!

Is it worth it? If you need it then YES!
Starting with it’s exactly what it claims and it works. Picture quality, sound, and compatibility is the same or better than expected. Not the easiest to understand but trial and error will resolve confusion. The big question is value? If you NEED this to play then yes it’s worth every penny but if you’re like me just wanting to play PS1 or Wii then probably not. It’s a nice device but current equipment can still run some older hardware and for the price if it’s not needed then it’s just a fancy port switch with extra features you likely will never use. If you don’t care about original hardware and physical media then get an emulator. If you want to make the old NES sing again then this may be what you’re looking for.

Great OSSC
This device works correctly and has some great features: 1. The yellow button covers look and feel great. 2. The micro SD card slot actually clicks when inserting an SD Card (for firmware update) 3. The cutout underneath to switch audio is a better idea than reaching inside to hit the switch I am happy with this device. I am using it on my 286, 386 and 486 computers and every game that I have run so far looks great on my 4K TV. You must be very careful with the LCD screen, and especially if you are inserting it into a plastic enclosure: I already destroyed one of these (from another vendor) because the LCD screen broke off and at that point the whole device stopped working.

Great for Retro Gamers!
I bought this device a few weeks ago because I wanted to play my old consoles like the Saturn and SNES on my new HD TV. I gotta say, my first impressions were pretty solid. It looks nice, feels sturdy, and set up was really straightforward; just plug and play, you know? I was honestly surprised at how well it translated the colors. I played Super Mario World with my kids, and they loved how vibrant the graphics looked compared to how I remember them! However, there’s a slight catch. Sometimes, the image can get a bit flickery, especially when you first turn it on or switch between resolutions. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it can be a tad annoying. The sound quality is decent, but I was hoping for a bit more clarity when playing music-heavy games. If you're super picky about sound, it might disappoint you. Overall, though, with minor tweaks, I’m really enjoying it and consider it a great addition to my retro gaming setup. Pros: • Easy to set up and use • Good video quality • Compatible with multiple old consoles Cons: • Occasional image flickering • Sound quality could be better Overall: I recommend this product. I rated it 4 stars because while it does have some minor issues, the overall quality and ease of use make it a worthwhile investment for any retro gaming lover.

Worth for it's Price
Was worried considering this is near $100 off other versions through other brands, but it does it's job and it does it well. Highly recommend for those who just finished a nights worth of research on these things, for Retro Gaming. I didn't go broke and I can read what's on my screen

Better quality than I hoped for
I'm really impressed with this product. I recently bought a PS1 and a PS2, tried them with a simple HDMI converter, but was not really impressed with the picture quality. After some online digging I learned about OSSC and this one was in my price range. I have no game mode on this particular TV (Sony, about 8yrs old, around 40"), but I set it to 4:3 and with the OSSC the picture is great and I don't find any eye strain while playing. It's easy to set up and doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. My only criticism is the remote, which has way more buttons than necessary! But this is a minor issue compared to the function of the item.
