Emerson Digital Counting Money Jar

I bought this coin jar because of the Emerson brand name. Was disappointed. After counting around 10-15 coins of various sizes, it stopped working. For the smaller coins like pennies and dimes, the lever does not move enough for it to count, I need to press the + or - signs for it to reflect the amount. I threw away the packaging and I don't think I can get a refund now. You can still use it to store coins, if you have never come across a plastic jar in your life that is. I would not recommend buying this product.

I used to have a coin jar like this a few years ago, and I got excited to have another one. However, after putting in maybe 5 coins of varying sizes, the little thing that detects the size and currency of the coins got stuck and has stopped working. Now if I want to put a coin in, I have to take a pair of tweezers and pull the little button out to reset it. Kind of annoying, and defeats the purpose of it counting your money. So now I just use it as a regular coin jar...a $15 coin jar, that is. I noticed other reviews say the same thing, too. Kind of disappointing.

It is a great product if you have kids in the home. It's hard plastic and not glass. Not very large if you are someone who loves to store pennies for years but perfect if you want to save up for something. I give this to my niece and she saved $20 in pennies already. The counter allowed her to see just how many pennies in the container.

I bought this one to replace an identical one purchased from Bed Bath & Beyond. It lasted a year before the counter broke. I do recommend this item. It makes saving up your change easy and fun. At the end of a year we saved almost $150, all silver- no pennies, which we donated to our favorite charity. I think this would be an excellent tool to use to encourage children to save money, too.

I recieved it on time but when i opened it up i noticed the item had a totally different name logo on it (Discovery Kids). It was new but it was a bait & switch. It works fine except for the fact that I'm a grown man who now has a change collector that has a " Discovery Kids " logo on it.

Ho hum! Tried for a cheap counter! This one though has issues with the tough coin insertion. It does have + & - to help you adjust the amount. I will be getting a better one soon.

I can't get the battery latch off because the nail just has a circle in the middle it doesn't have little peices that fit into a screw driver! so I can't use it at all! Very disappointed!
