Use a Diode
I purchased this lock 5 years ago. It is still going strong. I wanted to offer a suggestion in hopes of saving you the cost and frustrations I experienced: I connected this to a liftmaster opener. In the 5 years I've used this lock, I've had 3 board failures in my opener. I assumed it was damage from the electricity supply but I narrowed it down to this lock.When you connect this you need to use a separate power supply. (1) DO NOT use the power supply on the opener board. (2) use a flyback diode to stop the reverse EMF this lock generates. If you do not, it will fry the opener's board eventually.I would definitely recommend this lock. Being the typical alpha male, I threw away the instructions before installation. Hopefully it tells you about the diode installation. If not, do a little research to protect your electronics. In my application, one 1N4001 diode (about $2) would have saved me a lot of $.

Very Good Lock
The great thing about this lock is the wind doesn’t affect it I have it on two 8’x10’ cedar gates which catch a lot of wind.I gave it a 4 star on ease of installation because it is a very tedious process. If a person is used to doing accurate layout and dimensioning, it is not that difficult.
