Put it all together and it works! Better time keeping than the old mechanism, though this has no "soul". The old pendulum works perfectly. All it lacks is a nice big tick! The shaft length is critical (measure before buying), especially where the clock face is enclosed, with a glass/plastic front. If the shaft is too long, you will not be able to fit the mechanism, as the shaft will hit the glass front, I HAD that problem, however, I managed to pack it out, by sandwiching a electrical, PVC grommet, between the back of the clock, and the new mechanism, then screwed it down as normal, with the nut provided. The mechanism requires 1 AA battery (not provided), the pendulum part is an attachment, for your pendulum, it is purely for decorative purposes only, and provides no other function (the pendulum will just dangle there, lifeless, like most things in my life). The widest part inside of my clock (the white face), is 9 inches, I have provided a photo, so that you judge, what the hands may look like, inside your clock face. Very pleased with the clock refurbishment, the hands provided, are very attractive, they compliment the Roman numeral, however, I don't think I'll be worrying the Swiss clock making fraternity........ too much! Turned out not to be the case, so I had to buy ne separately, which lowers the value for money.
