Sizing - when choosing your size, this is the size of the bracelet not your wrist. Measure your wrist and add 1/2 inch for a snug fit or 1 inch for a comfortable fit. Accidentally get your size wrong, no problem, we will exchange for you. Pace counters or ranger beads are manual counting tools used to keep track of distance traveled through a pace count. Made of 13 or more beads on a length of cord that are divided into two sections, separated by a knot. 9 beads are used in the lower section, and 4 or more beads are used in the upper section. This system was originally developed by our military. There are two ways to use the beads. One represents the paces you have walked, while the other is the distance walked. Getting your pace count: Measure out 100 meters Walk the entire 100 meters while counting every time your left foot touches the ground Use your typical stride and pace or your later count will be off Using the Beads Each of the bottom beads equals 100 meters traveled Each of the top beads represents a kilometer traveled While using your pace count, every time you have traveled 100 meters, slide one bead from the bottom section down Once you have used all 9 beads from the bottom section, you will then slide one of the top 4 down after you have traveled another 100 meters. This means you have traveled 1 kilometer. Separator is adjustable and can be moved up or down depending on your preference. Need more or less beads for your counting needs? Or need a different configuration? ;message us before purchase, we can customize.

Fun "Arm Math"
So I was looking for a small counter to mark the number of laps I walk on a circular trail in my yard. I came across the hand-held clicker style and didn’t really find that compatible with my arthritic hands, to carry or to click. As usual on Amazon, other items of a similar nature were displayed as well, and my interest was captured by this beaded step counter. Having something secured on my wrist might work so I checked it out.I’m glad I did because the link introduced me to “arm math” as my eight-year-old grandson calls it. He has one now, too, as does my six-year-old granddaughter and their parents and their grandpa. We all do “arm math” now when on grandma’s trail or scootering in the cul-de-sac or riding bikes around the block, or……..Since I’d been trying to accomplish 50 laps a day on my trail, using a walking stick or my four-wheeled walker, I wanted a different bead configuration. RedVex was very easy to contact and I placed a special order of 10 beads on one side of the knot and 5 on the other, instead of the 9/4 represented here.My grandson says it’s like his abacus and at 2nd grade is very into math. He hurries to make his 10 laps, moving over each bead one at a time, so he can move the 1 bead on the other side that represents 10 laps. His dad has since incorporated “arm math” into dad sitting and enjoying twilight, using his bracelet for the counting, while son and daughter scooter circles around the house getting tired out for bed : ) As they come around the corner they shout out, “How many more laps to move a big bead, dad?”So thanks Amazon for the heads up to a link I may not have explored, so I could find an easy wrist counter for my laps and then discover a fun math game for myself and my grandchildren. It has stimulated their imagination to use their beaded bracelet in other “arm math” ways, besides wearing them all the time just because they’re cool looking.Pictured you’ll see me using the 9/4 beaded bracelet (before I thought of the 10/5), then the 10/5 configurations in pictures RedVex sent to confirm my multiple color choices and sizes. Each one came with a woven corded key chain. All in all a great experience. And very fast, too. Communication was excellent. If you click RedVex you’ll see they have other styles and configurations as well.So if you want something fun for your children or grandchildren, or need a counter yourself, check these out. The sizes listed can also be specially made although we didn’t need to do that. My granddaughter’s wrist size is 5 & 1/4”, mine is 5 & 1/2”, so we both got a 7”. You can see by my picture how that fits me. Then my grandson and daughter have 5 & 3/4” and 6” wrists so ordered 7 & 1/2” bracelets and they're a little loose which they like. Grandpa and ‘the dad’ have 7 & 1/2” wrists so ordered 9 & 1/2” because they wanted them loose which they are.Have fun thinking up your own "Arm Math" games and keep moving!
