Grizzly Industrial H3244-5" Vise Brake

These fit my vise almost perfectly. I wasn't sure about magnets being sturdy enough to allow for heavy duty work, but that wasn't a problem. I was initially hoping to find a vise brake that attached like the replaceable jaws on my vice, but these did seem to fit well and didn't shift upon use.

I am building a high performance sports car to be used in Auto Cross and Time Trial events. Such a project requires numerous brackets, gussets and other small parts to be manufactured by the builder as they cannot be purchased. This vise brake allows me to do this without the purchase of a very expensive heavy duty sheet metal brake. I have bent 2" wide steel stock thicker then the maximum recommended without problem. The magnets that hold the tool in the vise are strong and adequate. The only thing I would change is that the steel blade has a sharp edge. This makes for a very sharp bend. However, for my puposes the blade would be better if it had a 1/16" radius which would reduce stresses in the corner of the bend for the applications I use it for. I don't think this tool was designed for commercial use but all in all I think this is a good tool for the money and useful for its purpose.

This product works amazingly well for the price. Granted, it is not a professional brake, but if you need to make just occasional bends, you can get bends that are just as good at a fraction of the price. I made a number of 5" bends in 0.063" aluminum, and while it takes a little effort to get everything lined up, once I did I got perfect 90 degree bends, and was able to create boxes without any problem. I even bent 0.125" thick aluminum at 1" wide. Although well beyond the rated capacity of this tool, it worked fine. Since you are dependent on your vise handle for leverage, with a relatively small vise like mine, doing a 1" bend in 0.125" Al was about the maximum of what I could physically do, at least without adding an extension handle.

It worked well. Please advise: if you use a breaker bar, you might break something. But it probably won't be the brake. Great product so far

Awesome little metal break. Iv used it to bend 316 stainless 1/8 thick and 6062 aluminum 1/4 thick. A lot of this has to deal with your vice and what it will take but the jaws haven’t bent or chipped

Works great ! I used it on some 1/2" x 1/8" flat steel and it worked like a charm. This is also a finger break.
