Green tea chocolate is one of the more underrated culinary treasures to come out of Japan. Though certain versions thereof - like KitKat - have a cloying artificiality about them that tends to detract from the flavor, these are positively delicious. The green tea flavor is not bitter like a strong matcha, but nor is it overly sweet; it tends to compliment the very milky milk chocolate (in technical terms...) in a delightful way, much like adding a half-teaspoon of honey to a cup of warm green tea. Though in the opposite direction here, I suppose: adding a thimbleful of green tea to a chocolate bar.I got my first box of these as a gift some time over the summer, and after 2 or 3 (yes, like most Japanese treats, these are all individually plastic wrapped for your protection, and the destruction of the environment), it became readily apparent that I would have to find a way to track down more. As luck would have it, like so many things in this world, they're quite readily available on Amazon. I bought another 2 boxes within the week, and will certainly be buying more after I recover from the holiday calorie crush.
