The Classical Historian Medieval History Go Fish Game

I feel these could be SOOO much better. I know people rave about them, but I don't understand why? They lack a lot of information that could make them better. We homeschool, so I like things that are straightforward and to the point. These will list something and show a photo - for example, the Maya Calendar and then list three hints: "helped farmers," "time," and "round" ??? Really? that's it? It could tell you more about it, but then I guess your to google for it? In reality, if you are studying the time period - it could be a good addition as you will recognize many of the items, and it is a good starting point for what to look up, but I like things that teach more than what this does. My kids had no interest and neither did I :(

We are homeschoolers (10 yrs to 5 yrs) old. My kids love these cards. They are fun to use as a history supplement. There are a few cards that I will choose to expound on, but that's usually easy to do. The cards we are unfamiliar we keep a pile of and can google them later. Lots of fun!

Whether you homeschool, teach or just have kids you want to teach more this game is for you. We homeschool 5 kids and we are always looking for ways to spice things up. It is easy to play and there is actually more than one kind of game to chose from it is not limited to just "Go Fish". Since we use Classical Conversations these cards help to reinforce the cycle we are in.

Elementary level

I bought all three History Go Fish Games from the Classical Historian and my girls, aged 9 and 11 LOVE them. As a matter of fact, I enjoy playing them too. My girls play it at home and also take it along whenever they are going to have to sit and wait at an appointment. Most recently they took the Medieval Game with them to a Parents meeting they had to sit through and soon attracted a crowd of kids. I was surprised to look down and see four or five children leaning in and asking to play. Eventually they just graciously sat there while the other children played the game. What a great product! I'm very happy we purchased these and look forward to using more of their products in the future.
