A word of advice for prospective buyers of this product
Update: A couple of days ago, I was breaking down cardboard boxes for the recycling bin, and lo, I found the attachment screws in the very bottom of the box, buried under plastic sheeting. So, my review below was incorrect. They were there and they now are installed and that is SO much better as these make the seat tight as can be. The generic attachment screws had the seat sliding all over the place. It was already a 5 star product before, and now it's an even better 5 star product! While I love this seat, as the construction is top-notch, I was surprised that there were no attachment screws for the two hinges to attach to the toilette. Considering that almost every brand of seat has their own design when it comes to the hinge design and cover over the hinge design, I expected they be automatically included. I had a couple of sets of screws, but we had to use our dremel tool to grind them down to fit the unique hinge insides. As a result, installation took about 20-30 minutes to get it right. Some of these screw sets lock from the bottom, and some from the top (but never both ways, as far as I know). I had to use a set that came from a 20 year old toilette seat that was scrapped a few years ago. Being pack rats, we always save the hardware. You never know when you'll need it, like this time!

Good toilet seat, but....
I've bought these seat in the past, with no issues installing. This time around, the manufacturer seemed to have changed things a bit. The screws that go into the holes are really large, and you need a specific wrench for them (which I didn't have). You now have to tighten it and then the top of the screw will pop off. I had to use a regular wrench and broke the top of the screw off. They really need to have the original, regular screws back. Those worked perfectly fine.Other than that, the seat looks great, and is sturdy. Just a pain in the butt to install if you don't have the proper wrench.

easy to install
An open and shut case! Nothing beats an elongated open front toilet seat for cleanliness and ease of use in the home and Church is one of the few companies that makes one in a reasonable price range.Caveat: I did purchase this one to replace an identical seat that broke after 25 years. Additional caveat: When the new seat arrived, it included a piece of paper that said the seat had a life time free replacement warranty. So, I suppose I could have gotten a free seat to replace my broken one. This is done, easy to install, and works as intended.

Best seat in the house
"Best seat in the house" is, or used to be, the slogan for Church toilet seats. It seems to be true. I have had two toilet seats from a major competitor that both broke, in pretty much the same place. I'm an adult male, but I'm not especially heavy and I didn't abuse them. The Church seat looks better, appears to be sturdier, and has a better finish on it than the name brand competitor.

Well Built and designed to be CLEANER!
This elongated toilet seat has the open front end often associated with commercial toilet seats. Why? The seat itself remains cleaner. Men find there is less urine on the ceramic toilet bowl that can run onto the floor. In essence, this design is CLEANER! The finish is fine, the bolts are industry standard and easy to install. I'm gonna like this toilet seat.

Buy it
A very good value for a solid product. The quality is as good or better than seats found in most higher-end (pun intended) restaurants and shops. Besides the fact that (most) men prefer the open front, it also gives an extra layer of germ-free lifting of the seat cover— one less level of seat surface to come in contact with when you lift or close the lid.I bought one Bemis 595 000 Elongated Open Front Toilet Seat three weeks ago and am back to order two more for the rest of the house. Buy it, you’ll be hard pressed to find another of this quality for the price ($20.45 at time of purchase). The materials seem better than many I’ve seen in the big box stores, but for half the price.

Love this toilet seat.
We recently switched from a round toilet to an elongated one because of the common problem men have when sitting on a round toilet. Switching helped but this seat solved the problem. The problem of my man hood hitting the toilet lid or touching it is over. This seat is made 10 times better than the one that came with our toilet. Thought of buying an extra one. Highly recommended

Great mounting Hardware
Great open front toilet seat. Unfortunately it is not slow close, but it is very stable and dosen't shift out of position. The mounting hardware is very well designed so you don't have to worry about over tightening the bolts.
