Very easy to drill through. Make sure you go straight through...not at an angle. The foam makes a bit of a mess. A standard wood use drill bit is adequate. **Q: Will it fit a panel door?** A: I think so. This one has double glass one piece of glass on each side of the door compare to my old one which only had glass on the outside of the door only.
