MAGIX Photostory Deluxe - Version 2018 - Create a slideshow the easy way [Download]

Bought for a one time creation of a 90th birthday 45 min slideshow.Price was right at $50 but in the end I could only create a DVD but NOT create a MP4 file for download to a memory stick even though capability was supposed to be there which was frustrating due to time limited to get feedback from Magix and a fix in place before needed.Ended using DVD which worked thank goodness otherwise I would have had a no show.The program itself was just barely usable. Download was a bit confusing and there are extra add ins are not apparent if needed or not and took a long time/30 minutes to download. MANY errors encountered such as:-when opening the program, it would always say it was already opened and ask do you want to continue,-right after opened it always gave a pop up saying it crashed and do you want to send a crash report,- the export to MP4 (for download to a memory stick) would bomb out and auto restart the program every time,-when auto message to update to new releases would pop up, whether you did option to do immediately or option to do after shutting down, the software would stop and reboot! (So could never update)- Had numerous emails to/from Magix to resolve issues of which nothing was able to be corrected for any of the issues and response time was several days not hours—which if your in a time crunch like I was you can’t wait!- The export to MP4 function fix was to follow a vague Magix help desk reply to delete all Microsoft C++ software on my computer and reinstall with a later version— sounded doable but after 4 hours I gave up. This may have been my computer issue but software says Window7 compatible.All the software errors and lack of quick fix /any fix, makes the software unacceptable and barely usable.Making the slideshow itself and getting familiar with the software takes ALOT of time/days of trial and error and research to get somewhat familiar with the software. The graphical user interface is not very user friendly and not self explanatory. I got to the point where I created the slideshow, added music background and a few extra features, downloaded to DVD and had to go with that due to time. The music supplied by the software is limited and not useful to me vs my own downloaded music.Overall super frustrated with the amount and frequency of software errors, the time it took for trial and error to try to fix the errors, long customer support reply time (days) and the the time it took to learn the software gives this software a one star.

I purchase this piece of crap software because it showed a few good reviews and I needed something quick to do an emergency slideshow for a funeral. Ordered it on January 22, 2018 and immediately put it to work only to find out that it kept crashing every 10 to 15 minutes.Needless to say I was not able to use it at all. I had only three days to turn in the slideshow and I ended up using the free version of CyberLink (which is very limited); nonetheless, it did a better job than this piece of crap... I was not even able to install it on another PC to see if that was the issue which sucks because I purchase the software; therefore, I should be able to re-install it when I need it...i know that I can't ask for a refund (terms of the sale) but at least I'm letting you all know to "try before you buy" ... I have learn my lesson the hard way... MAGIX thanks for nothing.

I first installed this software on a laptop. It was a difficult install and was hard to register. I finally got it working and after spending all day on a slide show I found that it would not burn the project to dvd no matter what I did. Very frustrating. I got mad and went online and gave it a 1 star review. Today I thought to try and install it on my desk top machine. It installed much quicker and they let me activate it, which I was worried about not knowing if they would let me install it on 2 machines. It works a lot better on the big machine. Could be because I have 32 gigabytes of ram in it. Only problem is that after burning my project it won't open on my home theater blue ray player. It does open and play fine on my laptop. Supposing I can figure out how to make it open on my blue ray player it will be perfect for my purposes and I can give it 5 stars. There are a lot of different settings in the burn menu I finally figures out which ones work for my blue ray player after some trial and error. Should have just googled standard dvd format. everything works beautiful now. Some learning curve but a nice program.

I didn’t like this program at all. Very difficult to use. Wish I could have returned it.

Good Price / quality ratio

I downloaded this and it is for a 64 bit computer and my computer is 32 bit computer. I bought this for a funeral presentation and was not able to use it. Very sad. No where in the description does it state for 64 bit only. Now stuck with a program I cant even try.

This software did not work for me. I was able to install it but it required an update and the update did not work. There were only 3 Movie Templates available. I purchased the software based on the template capability.

1 star is too many. Horrible waste of money. Doesn’t work. Impossible to upload pictures to. I ended up buying a different program because this one stinks.
