Hiquphon Tweeters - Matched Pair (OW1-92mm Linn)

Purchased to upgrade Linn AV5140 speakers. I’m the original owner of these speakers and have owned them for nearly 30 years. The rest of my system is 100% Linn. The Hiquphon drivers added much more detail and made the music more natural while projecting more of the music “forward” if that makes any sense. I was amazed how colored the original Linn tweeters turned out to be. To put it in simple terms. it was as though a thick cloth napkin has been removed from the original tweeters. Imaging and soundstage was already incredibly good so not much to improve in that regard. The seller was awesome and very responsive, friendly and helpful. Shipping was only 2 business days. I added an additional gasket upon installation to position the tweeter flush with the speaker front side. The gasket was fashioned from a sheet of cork automotive gasket material. approx. 1/16” thick.

Replaced the tweeters in my Linn LS250 Nexus speakers with OW1-92mm’s tonight and they sound amazing. Like having new speakers. The product is clearly exceptionally well-made and the replacement process was simple. The best part of this purchase, however, was dealing with Dave Ellis. He was remarkably helpful in answering my questions and offering advice. He is also a delightful person and I enjoyed just chatting with him. Fantastic experience all around.

These are replacing my cracked SPKR 015/3. These are phenomenal tweeters. Crystal clear and not fatiguing at any volume. Perfect fit for my Linn AV 5140 towers. The seller is super helpful too. I highly recommend these drivers.These do not come with sealant rings so make sure you pick some up or keep the original ones from your speakers.

The Hiquphon OW1-92mm Linn are an excellent replacement for Linn Katan's "SPKR 038" factory tweeters. I currently own two pairs of Linn speakers with four sequential serial numbers. After running the one pair with the new OW1-92mm Linn tweeters for over 200 music playing hours, I am very impressed. I was recently able to match amplification and cabling connections and source material on each pair (OEM tweeters vs OW1-92 tweeters) and cannot decide which I prefer overall.They are very closely matched - I suspect many people would not know they were different by hearing (they appear a little different visually) The original sound was consistently balanced tonally, very dynamic and detailed without being harsh or shrilly - same great results with OW1-92 - and arguably greater detail and I wonder if just a very very slight less dynamic. Not softer or damped - tonal balance is still there and stereo imaging is every bit as good, but when I swapped the room location of the pairs (OEM vs OW1-92) I think I sensed that the OEM's soundstage was slightly more forward (now I sound crazy - but imagine moving from row 10 to row 7 in a small auditorium jazz show - stage didn't get deeper, but OEM was maybe closer - but new was maybe more detailed on overall band (keyboards at side, 2nd percussion on other side) - this was a very slight difference and it's okay if you laugh at me - because I laughed and decided that these are awesome tweeters and a near-perfect to perfect replacement for the original Linn OEM tweeters. Also, David Ellis is an excellent representative for such a great product. Wish you good listening.

I replaced the tweeters in my LInn Nexus speakers with these after about 28 years of good service. They were drop in replacements. Had to do a little soldering but replacement was easy. I have a Yamaha AV 671 Receiver that has 7 channels with dedicated power supplies. I have these speakers Bi-wired and use a separate power supply for the tweeter and driver. I can't believe how good they sound. I was thinking of upgrading to towers because of the Nexus age. I don't think I have heard anything yet that can touch these vintage LInns at less than $2000. Aloha,I just purchased an older Linn Centrik center channel as part of a conversion of my 2-channel audio system to perform double duty as a 5-channel surround sound system for movies. Unfortunately, the original 19mm ceramic dome tweeter (photo) had a big hole in it! So, I sought out a high quality replacement and landed on the Hiquphon as the best solution and upgrade for the original tweeter.It is a direct fit - the diameter of the outer baffle of the tweeter are the same size (92mm) the screw holes are in the same place. All it took was a simple solder connection to the new tweeter and it's better than new!Highly recommended for those that want to keep their older Linn speakers lasting for another 20 years.
