Seems like a good laser level, but comes with a terrible tripod.
This is a three-plane laser-level device that projects 1, 2, or 3 360° lines at right angles to one another, allowing you to check all three degrees of rotational freedom: roll, pitch and yaw, in technical terms. In other words, it can show whether things are straight, level, and plumb, and can sometimes be used to check squareness as well. Here's a quick rundown of the accessories included with the level:A pair of green-lensed glasses, which are described both as "laser-enhancing" and "laser safety" glasses. This seems like a contradiction, and unfortunately I don't know enough about the field to answer that little riddle for you.A magnetic mounting bracket. This attaches to the level via the 1/4-20 threads in the level, and in addition to magnets has various slots and sleeved holes whose purpose isn't explained. Probably people more familiar with laser levels and transit equipment than me will understand its use.A "target plate," also with magnets. This is confusingly referred to in the manual as a "laser detector." In fact it just has a reflective plastic film on one side. The laser from the level will show up more clearly on this reflector if you're working in bright ambient light conditions. But the reflector is very small, so it would probably be a lot more useful to tape up one or more pieces of aluminum foil.On to the tripod mentioned in my title. This tripod is full-featured, including a pan-handle, a quick-release platform and locking knobs for all axes of rotation. But it's also very poor quality; the elevator crank bends in your hand as you use it, the pan locking knob has virtually no effect no matter how strenuously you tighten it, its maximum height is only 20.5 inches, and on the whole it feels like a plastic toy. Considering what this set costs, I wouldn't be surprised if many customers start putting everything back in the box to return it to Amazon as soon as they inspect this tripod.Lastly, there's the manual. The writing of the English section is vastly better than the hopelessly indecipherable "Chinglish" we've all come to expect from Chinese manufactured and sold products, but it's still pretty bad. There's the "laser detector" issue noted above, and also there are several references to "sliding the pendulum to the locked/unlocked position" with no text or illustration explaining what this means. Fortunately that point can be figured out with a little deductive reasoning. Also, there is some text in the manual that strongly suggest that the included Li-ion battery pack has no overcharge or over-discharge protection. Given the poor quality of the manual, it's not clear if this should be taken as correct, or is just the manual writer not knowing what he was talking about. The laser level itself works quite well, and is simple and intuitive to use. The body of the level is sturdy and ruggedized. But the quality of the tripod ruins the set, in my opinion. I'd rather buy a level with no tripod rather than one with the embarrassing little toy one included here.

Great level at a great price!
This level comes with a really nice case with cutouts for each part. The level itself is bigger and feels more rugged than I expected given the price. I was worried it would feel flimsy. The controls are easy to figure out with the manual, which isn’t great (it seems like it has been years since I’ve even seen a really well written manual) but clear enough to easily figure out how to operate the level. You can switch between different combinations of lines being active and whether it is in pulsed mode or not. You can also operate it with the self leveling deactivated if you want to display non-level lines. The level uses clear signals (blinking lines) to indicate if the level is locked or if the self leveling failed (because it is to far out of level to begin with). It comes with a rechargeable battery and also an adapter so that it can be run off of AA batteries. That is really great if you don’t use it every day and you might pull it out after months of not being used to a dead beater. No problem, just throw in some AA and you are ready to go. My one minor annoyance with this product is that to charge the batter you need to have it in the level and it uses a custom power supply. It seems out of date now that most everything charges over some type of USB.This kit also includes a tripod and a pair of green safety glasses. I think the glasses are kind of a gimmick but I haven’t tried them when the level is so far away or the light so bright that I could easily see the line with my naked eyes. Maybe they help? The tripod I thought was going to be kind of a waste since I have a couple for photography but the one they included is so compact when stored I’m actually really happy they included it. I can keep it with the level and don’t have to worry about running around finding my other tripod.I’m really thrilled with this level. I’ll update this review if I find any problems with it but so far it is really great.

Very complete set and awesome laser level
This is my second laser level and I absolutely love the features of this unit. First, it comes with everything you need - a nice zippered, padded case; a basic tripod; a magnetic bracket, regular batteries, rechargeable batteries, and a wired charger that can also power the unit; reflector piece; safety glasses; and of course the laser itself. And the laser works very well. The green light is easy to see and can be set to a high and low brightness level. It allows you to choose which of the laser lines are projected, or turn them all on together. You can lock the laser lines if you want to project an angled line in a fixed position. And to top it all off, the unit itself is very rugged and feels solidly built.I'm using this for a tiling project and setting it so I can mark a level line for making even tile rows on 3 walls. You can see from the picture how it easily projects around the 270 degree shown, very simple to make sure my first row of tiles is even everywhere. The line is very easy to see even in the fully lit room. And the biggest bonus of all - my dog LOVES the green light. He is mesmerized by the line and hangs out with me when it is on. I think that makes this 5-star review more like 6 stars.

Perfect for professionals who remodel or tile!
Perfect for professionals who remodel or tile! I do a a lot of DYI projects, And I will admit that this tool is probably not something the average person would use for home repair unless you’re like me and you have extreme OCD! But without a doubt for someone who does home remodels or tiling this is an excellent tool to have. To start off with the green light that shows is so much easier to see then the red lights are. It measured accurately, And the tripod was so amazingly useful! Although I didn’t try any tiling with it, there are functions to make that job easier. The unit itself is well constructed. I think for the price, for a professional it’s a good value. I think for an average home repair person, More than you’ll ever probably need at a price that is more than you’ll probably ever wanna spend.
