Mission: Impossible 2

Very Formulaic But Still Good
Far from the best Mission Impossible film. It suffers from a very routine story where the twists and turns of the plot are really obvious, and a ticking clock element is introduced and then used in a way that barely creates any tension. The cast is highly underutilized. It's a Tom Cruise show from start to finish, with Anthony Hopkins barely moving, a female co-star Thandiwe Newton having nothing to do after the first part of the film, and Ving Rhames as marginally useful sidekick and comic relief. It is also very clearly a John Woo film more than a Mission Impossible film, just not one of his best. All that said, it's still a better action film than most Hollywood action films.

Predictably hilarious.
Meta-comedy with a distressing theme.

Pretty good
This is very different from the first movie which is why I liked it. Good action. My hubby was hoping for something similar to the first.

The best of the MI films
Having seen all 4 of the M:I films, and having read rather negative reviews of M:I-2, I have to set the record straight. This is the best one, but only if you pay attention. To the plot, to the way the scenes ebb and flow, to the style, to the way the whole film is put together whereby the sum is greater than the parts. You must understand that John Woo is enamoured with old-fashioned Hollywood, and is Chinese, so honor and love and good versus evil really matter. Hence, the "corny" dialogue, and the doves and the fire and the crashing waves symbolizing the monumental battle between good and evil. If you appreciate old-fashioned movie making, where the good guys are good (albeit flawed - they make mistakes too) and the bad guys are bad, then you will appreciate this M:I film in particular. Yes, the action scenes are great, but so are the characters, and so believeable are they. The bonus: the bad guy is a really good, obsessed bad guy. And what action movie (other than Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which is much more than an action movie) has the female lead playing such an important, and strong, role?

Quite silly
I think this is the goofiest of the series. I remember when it came out and it felt overdone: the fight scenes are long and silly and the overuse of masks makes this one more tiresome than entertaining.I’m a fan of the series. This is easily the last on my list.

2nd installment to the Mission Impossible franchise.
I bought this as a replacement to my old DVD format copy. This is a nice movie, lots of action stunts. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team are sent to Sydney, Australia to stop rogue team from obtaining a laboratory manufactured virus. Also starring, Thandie Newton (Nia Nordoff-Hall) and Dougray Scott (Sean Ambrose a rogue IMF agent who possess the virus). An enjoyable movie.

Good movie.
Strange as it may sound, but there is a warm feeling.. "feelgood action" new genre name.. to this movie. Top elite actors that all shine.. all of them.. which makes the movie unusual and heartwarming. Yet invigorating, cause it is an action movie.
