That being said, it was better than I expected. I believe its aluminum and I kind of expected plastic so that was nice. Sight picture is decent size. There is some glare but nothing that really inhibits aiming. Brightness settings are nice to have. You get 4 different recticals in red or green which I find nice. Its very intuitive to operate, you really shouldnt need instructions. It has a little cover for the lens. It mounted up to the pic rail snug as a bug. I mounted mine on a semi-auto 12 gauge and it stays put and on target. I think this is a decent optic for an air-soft gun or something you shoot for fun. If you're looking for an optic to trust with your life or for home defence, you might want to spend the money on something nicer with shake awake and such. But I don't believe you can on the S&W SD9VE.
