Review: Solid Battery for the Price - desertcart Basics AA Rechargeable Batteries (2400 mAh) – Real Capacity Test Results I ran a full analysis cycle on 8 cells using an ISDT N8-series smart charger at a 0.5A charge/discharge rate. Unfortunately 4 of the 12 cells were accidentally thrown out with the broken toy they were in so I couldn’t test those. Review: These seem like good batteries. - I am comparing these to Energizer rechargeable batteries. The seem to charge as fast but they seem to last about half as long. It can be hard to do a direct comparison as no two devices ever seem to be used in the same way, but I tried these in some LED lanterns on a camping trip. The lanterns were the same make and model and were both brand new. One lantern had brand new, fully charged Energizers in it and the other had these desertcart Basics, also brand new and fully charged. (Both sets of batteries were charged on the same charger). I put the lanterns on a table and they ran continuously until the next day. The lantern with the desertcart Basics batteries shut off after about 16 hours whereas the Energizer batteries kept that lantern going for 28 hours. For the price, I think that these feel like a good value. Energizer is exceptionally proud of their products and charge accordingly. Yes, they may be better, but I don't think that they are the best value. It may turn out that the overal lifecycle of the Energizers is much better than the desertcart Basics, but the short-term results say that the desertcart Basics are perfectly acceptable. The green color is nice tool Other companies use green to indicate that their batteries are rechargable, so good on desertcart for leaning into that.

A: To clarify, there are three different versions of AmazonBasic rechargeable NiMH batteries:- The original AmazonBasics batteries came in black wrappers. They are made in China and have the capacity rating of 2000mAh. They are NOT as good as Sanyo eneloop batteries.ASIN:B0030T1NEA AmazonBasics AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries- The second version of AmazonBasics batteries came in white wrappers. They are made in Japan and also have the capacity rating of 2000mAh. They are (according to me) rebranded 2nd-gen Sanyo eneloop, so you can expect at least 1500 cycles lifespan.ASIN:B00CWNMV4G AmazonBasics Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries- The third version is also black but called 'high-capacity'. **Q: Describing a battery as "high capacity": does not inform the buyer.  1500 mAh?  2000?  2500?  Why are you hiding this spec?!?**
A: Generally, you have to search the cell description to find the rating. There isn't an industry standard as regards what constitutes a "high capacity" cell, so you will see it roughly corresponds to AA cells of 2000 mah and higher. Rarely do AA cells ever exceed 2700 mah, although a few vendors make such claims, which are mostly found to be bogus.

**Q: can i use my eastshine s2 charger? or must use your charger?**
A: Yes you can use the eastshine S2 charger. These batteries are NI-MH.

**Q: are this AA batteries fatter then Alkaline batteries ? i use eneloop lite where i cant use regular eneloops due to size restrictions**
A: Those AmazonBasics High-Capacity AA batteries are slightly fatter than regular eneloop cell, which are alreaddy slightly fatter than alkaline AA. So if you have to resort to using eneloop-lite in battery compartments, then those high-capacity cells are not going to fit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OK, Especially for the price

These 1.5 year-old cells behave about the same as the 3.5 year old ones I have been using since 2024. They seem to hold charge and work OK--have not tested capacity. Noted that their Amazon Basics 4-bay charger is a poor indicator of full cell charge--it will charge 4 cells at 1.5 Watts per cell for about 15 minutes before shutting off, even after they have just been fully charged and re-inserted into the charger...
