FreeMotion 890 Treadmill

This happens to be one of the best treadmills I've ever stepped upon
This happens to be one of the best treadmills I've ever stepped upon, with one of the most annoying issues I've ever encountered. After spending so much money on the FreeMotion 890, you're suddenly realizing that the android operating system is riddled with iFit... a pretentious wannabe FitBit system that demands you pay monthly or yearly to even sign up for it. These features are the very reason you buy this treadmill, then you figure out that you have to pay for them. This must be the biggest scam in the history of scams. Thank god there's a TV or I might actually have to be terribly disappointed. Plug in Chromecast, que music videos, and go!

Use it every day. A bit of a chore to put together. I wish the built in tablet was more of a tablet. The internet access it a bit limited, I have not been able to figure out how to download a netflix app yet. It does not seem to load netflix.com.

Started creaking in 2 months
2 months into the product and it has heavy creaking when I run. For a an expensive product which comes across as being study and well built, the creaking noise is very disappointing.

This treadmill is better quality than any equipment at gyms that my husband or I have been to. The assembly was easy with the two of us working on it. We haven't hooked up the cable to the TV yet, but everything else is of good quality. I like that I can create my own map of the route I want to take, then it shows pictures from that route. It feels like I am walking the streets where I have traveled. I can also use the ones they offer with a video and learn about the places I have not been to. If I want, I can override the speed/incline to what I want. I also started the Jillian program to make me do 'more' than I would on my own. Joining the iFit also allows for both of us to store our progress for the price of one and customize our own programs. The only negative thing I have is that lifting the platform for storage is not as easy for me (maybe after I get stronger). It says that one must be able to lift 45lbs, but it feels heavier to me. I called called customer service and they are sending a new part that holds the platform up. We would definitely recommend this

A helluva mess! Amazon and FreeMotion should be ashamed!
Well.. so far this is a 400lb albatross in my exercise room. I will write more later when it finally DOES work. Bought it on Dec 10, delivered before Xmas, set it up for wife as a surprise gift and it didn't even turn on. Called Amazon who we bought it from. They referred us to call the manufacturer. Called FreeMotion, no return of calls repeatedly. Re-called over and over again and finally after 45 minutes of wait said they would send a part to be delivered within 5-7 days. Nothing arrives. Started the calling AGAIN on Jan 15 and finally got to speak to someone who indicated WHY WOULD ANYONE TELL YOU 5-7 days cuz the part is on backorder. But, remember, you can return it to Amazon for a full refund by/before Jan 31. Call Amazon who says, "you CAN return it for full paid price but you can not purchase the same machine unless you pay the full price since it is no longer on sale???" Kinda a heck of a lot miffed at this point. We want THIS machine, we want the same WORKING MACHINE we paid for. So after wheeling and dealing with Amazon and receiving an extension to return until March 31, since the Da*n part hasn't still arrived, and I'm not willing to return then pay an extra $400 for the same machine if I return it and they send me a new one, ugh! Finally... the part arrived last week. Next, after more calling, told we would have a FreeMotion tech call us to come spice wires and set up the new control board to take our first steps. No one called. Start calling AGAIN to rant. Tech finally calls us and says he will be here to install the new part on Monday, Feb 16th. He also said he hopes that it works and they do not have to order any other parts. Monster long story but we've had this piece of crap machine since mid-Dec and never took a step on it. I may choose to write more later IF IT EVER DECIDES TO WORK!!

GREAT VALUE AND FEATURES!
This does everything I wanted it to accomplish. I exercise as much as I run -- I do rather active exercises for my arms, my shoulders, my head and neck while I'm walking quickly. (1) The extra long 60" platform allows me to step back from the control panel and move freely without falling off the back. I can hold the arms and bend at the waist to exercise the long back muscles, without falling off the back of the tread. (2) The extra 2" in width allows me to step wide or even 'wander' a bit side to side without hitting the side (makes a BIG difference). (3) The 'decline' function is also VERY valuable -- walking downhill puts all of my leg, back, and upper body structure in a different orientation than walking flat or on an incline. (4) All of this means I have been able to work on my balance as well as my strength and circulation. (5) I don't move that quickly, about 3 miles an hour, so I really enjoy looking at the different scenery, people, and animals in far-flung places that you can select with Google Maps. (6) I specifically wanted the 10-inch display to see these things; I found that it makes a BIG difference from the 7-inch displays on other treadmills. (7) the TV is a happy extra, because I don't have an option to set the treadmill to face the TV in the room. Having it so close and hooked into a headphone sound system means I can see it without strain and without blasting out everyone else in the house. (8) the TV has coaxial, HDMI, and RCI inputs, so I can use it for broadcasts or to connect to my laptop for conferencing or for videos.I'm not a full-out athlete running 5-minute miles, so this treadmill fits my needs very, very well indeed, and most enjoyably.
