Havent taken a spill so i dont know if it works but based on previous reviews from people its very effective... Cant get over how light it is really can forget its there.. fits snug extremely adaptable, good profile.. finally a climbing helmets that ventures out of the tradition climbing helmet style, places some effort to aesthetics, fits single and double band headlights. M/L small enough for average size head to wear without wobble or looking too bulky... but also can adjust to fit beanie comfortably. great helmet.... way better then the pretzl sirocco lightweight helmet..... A) looks better.. B) plastic clip for head lamp, C) straps built so they can tuck into helmet, D) plastic external hull over styrofoam core maintains lightweight while not being as fragile as the pretzl helmet... plus its same price as the sirocco..which is rediculos b/c ive had it and its crap... get the vector... looks good lightweight very pragmatic. you wont forget to wear it save your noggin

I can't really comment on the quality of the product, but be very careful with the size. My husband's head measured 25" and , although the helmet should have fit, he couldn't even get it onto his head. We had to return it and look elsewhere.
