Made in Germany with high-quality aluminum, this lightweight device (60 g) features a compact design (14.9 x 8.2 x 2.6 cm) that fits seamlessly into any professional audio setup. ## Description The PB-05 is an automatic microphone switch with an optical distance sensor. The device is simply plugged between the microphone and cable. On the front there is an active infrared sensor. This sensor "detects" when someone is in front of the microphone and turns on the microphone without switching noise. The microphone is automatically switched off when no one is in front of the microphone. A red status LED indicates the operating status of the optogate. The PB-05 works with 48V phantom power. Condenser microphones can also be operated without problems in conjunction with the PB-05. The phantom power is transmitted to the microphone. It eliminates unwanted background noise from instruments in unused microphones. The clarity and dynamics of the beneficial signal is significantly increased by lower phase extinguishments and overlays from other microphones. The PB-05 is available in 3 versions: the PB-05 M reduces the microphone level by approx. 42 dB, in the "mute" position. The PB-05 D reduces the level by -16 dB, which is sometimes more comfortable for in-ear applications.
