Got for my toddler grandson and it has become his "blankie". Absolutely won't sleep without it. When he first got it at 18 months, he lugged it about everywhere -- it's a little heavy. Once he was sick and threw up on it in bed. Since you can't place in washing machine, my daughter phoned me frantically that he was crying for his "pen-gun". Thankfully, I ordered on Amazon right away and he got it in a few days and everything got back to normal. Warning that it's a little heavy, not squishy soft, but for some reason my 1 year old grandson loved it -- is now 3 and still sleeps with it. He likes it warmed a little in the microwave in the winter to snuggle with.

cute, strong aroma at first but it quickly disappears so now we have a regular stuffed penguin joining the zillion other stuffed animals at the house.

I have a few microwave plush (and I do use them for various aches and pains) by at least 3 companies and I have found that I prefer the Sootheze line. I have the raccoon(which is huge!), the duck, a puppy, and a rabbit. I found this penguin (not from Amazon) for 1/2 the price. Admittedly, that's hard to find. I respectfully don't feel that this penguin is worth $25. If it were larger, perhaps. With that being said, I do prefer the Sootheze scent, designs, and their fabrics. The flax seed is the key for me. It gives the push a good weight, and it's less likely to burn when being microwaved. Don't forget to wrap your penguin in a dry towel first! ~Not like some of those heatable plush who have the ceramic pelleted filling which I've seen BURN the fabric. And after a while, THAT ceramic filling does have a funky 'hot pottery' odor.This penguin however is very sweet, and has a great scent, and is softer than I expected. He looks just like the picture. The flax seeds don't appear to poke through the fabric either. The bill and feet are a soft pliable faux leather. He seems to be well constructed. He has no problem sitting upright, and is great to stroke. But he can lie down if you want him to. He retains a nice even heat as well. He weighs about 2 lbs and is about 9" tall. Just like the company describes. I'm very pleased with this Sootheze Penguin Microwaveable Hot & Cold Plush! I would recommend him!!
