Solid set that has worked well so far (4 months of use and testing)
The media could not be loaded. If you look at many of the collars available on Amazon they use this exact same remote. They may have differing labels or colors, some even have a backlit screen, but they seem to be roughly the same internally. The collar material differs on the various units as well but the shock component looks nearly identical on most of them. The prices range from this one at ~24 all the way up to ~100+. Save your money and get this one. It works exactly the same and is most likely manufactured at the same production facility. If you're spending less than $100 I dont think theres much difference in any of them. Over $100 and the quality goes way up and includes many extra features. The collar and removable unit attached to the collar are made of more durable material than the remote. That said, I have dropped the remote many times and its never broken or had any issues. Its a very simple device so I don't foresee any problems. I only use it around the house and I wouldn't want to take it camping or get it wet or too humid. The descriptions stats it is IP-3 rated (IP stands for Ingress Protection and IP-3 is specifically protection against sprays of water at an angle of 60 degress with no impact on function). IP-8 is fully waterproof but this unit is stated to be IP-3The charge seems to last about 4 or 5 days max but that will change depending on how often you use its functions. I use it weekly and most of the time I only use the vibrate feature. Speaking of the battery, be aware that over time the battery will lose charge and the shock, alarm and vibration settings will become weaker until you recharge the unit. There is no indicator to let you know the power level of the battery but there is a red LED on the collar unit that blinks to show whether or not is has any charge. So sometimes you'll end up needing to use it and it will be dead unless you check that red LED everyday. This is how most of them work. With a unit that's $100 or more you might get an indicator of battery strength but the battery will still discharge over time and get weaker. The only reliable way to test the battery strength is to use the "alarm" setting and try to determine if the volume has gone down compared to when it was freshly recharged. I would guess that this battery should have around 200 to 500 charging cycles. If thats the case then it should last as many weeks assuming you charge it once a week.As an example of the shock strength I can tell you about its function up to setting 10. We have a fake packet of chewing gum around the house for pranks. It looks authentic so the gag works every time. When someone pulls on the piece of gum thats sticking out of the pack they get a little jolt. Most of the time people yell, or jump back. There is no real pain, its just the surprise of the unexpected that "shocks" people. With this unit set to 10 it has the exact same effect. I tested this personally to determine the strength. I haven't personally tested it above 10 so I've no idea how that feels but it goes up to 100. Setting 10 is more than enough to get your dogs attention if the dog is not listening or disobeying. I start with vibrate then move on to shock if disobedience continues. Most of the time the vibration is enough of a reminder of the shock that I never have to go to the shock setting. To me this is a sensible and humane approach to discipline that works. It also does not require a long drawn out training program or reading a book on canine discipline. You put the collar on the dog and they learn very very quickly. Interestingly my Dog doesn't associate me with the collar either but with the remote. Sometimes just seeing the remote is enough of a deterrent or reminder. To me this device is an affordable and effective solution.I was interested to see if it has a user replaceable battery so I disassembled it and took these photos. If you have a soldering kit and can locate a vendor to get a proper battery I believe you would be able to replace it without issue. I don't know if the battery is Ni-MH, Nm-CD or Lion but the capacity is clearly stated as 3.7v, 500mah which is the same as a RCR123A (CR123A) type battery.Oh, it also has a USB charger and an AC adapter so you have two options for charging. Use the supplied Ac adapter, or plug it into a power bank or other digital device to charge it up.

Did the job!
My lovely 1-year-old 40-pound female boxer mix rescue is hyper-active; reactive; and, sometimes, just plain aggressive toward other dogs. Our obedience teacher suggested that we get an electronic collar for her. Needless to say, we did not want to break the bank with this purchase--particularly since we weren't sure if it would work. For the price, I am both happy with and impressed by the quality of this collar. Rather than using the plastic buckle collar that it came with, I put this "box" on my dog's regular collar. The fact that it is rechargeable, will put itself to sleep, and then wake up when the device is moved is outstanding. The remote may be paired with two "boxes." This set does several things: makes a high pitched beeping sound (volume cannot be adjusted); allows you to test connectivity with by showing the red LED light on the box and the remote; vibrates (adjustable from 1 to 100); and provides an electric shock (adjustable from 1 to 100). I tried both the vibrate (on 100) and the shock (on 3) on myself. The vibrate DOES NOT have any type of shock involved--basically, it's like one's cell phone vibrating. But, it does get the dog's attention. The shock on 3 was quite powerful (caused a bit of an involuntary muscle jerk in my arm); thus, I have my dog on a 2 and I only use it if she lunges at another dog.Could some of the more expensive ones be better? Maybe. But, this has done the job. Dora is slowly gaining more self-control around other dogs; we no longer fear that she might scratch or bite another dog. Please feel free to ask me questions if you like.

OK so I felt bad getting this
OK so I felt bad getting this, but my dog thought I was playing every time I told, pleaded, begged, yelled, screamed, any commands to her.I received this and of course like any responsible pet owner I tested this on my self. Of course I'm not gonna zap her without knowing if it's really gonna hurt her.I tuned the vibration setting to 50 and you feel it but nothing painful. Same thing with the electric shock. Now you can set this from 0 to 100. I started low and went all the way up to 65 before I felt something significant. After a few days of buzzing her at 35 for vibration and 20 for electrical, she began to respond to my commands. And now I just have to press the warning beeps and she'll respond knowing what comes next.Oh yes there is a warning button as well as a little led flashlight on the remote. This product is great for 30.00 bucks

Best Trainer for a stuborn dog
Works well. I was hesitant to use this because I would not do anything to cause pain to my four legged friend. I decided that I would try it on myself. I placed it in the palm of my hand. We tried it on level 10 (of 100) and it gave me a decent jolt, it was uncomfortable but not painful.I was able to take control of my dog in a few times. I gave a command, if be kept on misbehaving I would send him an audible beep through the collar I would then give him the command again, if he still didn't stop I would give him a light shock. After I zaped him the first 2 times he learned that when I gave him a beep he had to stop or get zapped.

If your dog likes to run away; don't buy. Collar isn't heavy duty enough (plastic latching ring will break).
Works great, buy one sooner versus later and watch videos on youtube. I can't complain for the price but I with there were set buttons (for beep, vibrate, shock) versus having to change mode. The interface is just a little clunky.Buy an e-collar sooner versus later and watch youtube videos ...2/8/2016 - UpdateI lost the receiver portion in the park and had to replace it. It worked it's way off the collar (since the collar was too thin). The plastic ring that you snap onto broke the first time that my dog tugged. It's just way too thin and cheap plastic. Whomever manufactured this clearly is cutting corners on the build quality. If I was to buy one again, I'd spend more. The electronics are good but the collar is crap. You could take off those parts over to a different collar.
