I use it as a sketchbook and I love it. I can use pen or pencil. I've tried all kinds of erasers from the one on the end of a cheap mechanical pencil, to a nice soft kneaded one the all work great without destroying the paper. Easy to carry, size makes a great travel journal, sketchbook,etc. And have a little style rather than a plain old grocery store bought one that's for sure.

What a knockoff! The string is thin rope as opposed to the leather pictured. The “leather” cover is thin, stiff, paper like and polar opposite to supple, full grain leather. I am very disappointed and returning. Search another store that had handmade in title instead!

Leather is either fake or of serious poor quality. String not leather strap for closure. Disappointed.

This book isn't unusable, but the official picture is NOT REMOTELY accurate. Variability is one thing, but the style here isn't even close, being far less detailed and much flatter. The eyes and legs are especially bad (The eyes are just circles with a dot in the middle, while the leg of the left hand dragon does not appear to be attached to its body). The dragons have no teeth unlike the product picture, even the scales are much less well executed. The final result is that they look more like winged sea horses than anything draconic.The book is held shut with a cheap string rather than lether cord as shown, and there is no stitching around the margin of the leather cover either.There is also nothing protecting the inside of the leather cover letting you see the bare unsealed leather with rough spill over of the stain used on the outside around the margins when you open the book.The entire book has an overpowering smell, I'm not sure what was in the "special oil" used to preserve the leather but it smells more like a creosoted wooden fence than any leather object I've encountered before.Overall, while it does have a medieval look to it, I wouldn't recomend buying this if you want the book in the official picture, because what is delivered doesn't come close to that standard of artwork sadly.

I bought this journal for my grandson as part of his Xmas box, I found that the leather strap that holds it shut had been cut unevenly and in places it is so thin it will certainly break within a short time of using it and the edge of the pages had a prominent stain as shown in the pictures. However, the outer leather covering of the journey is lovely and does look well made and the pages are fitted nice and securely and paper used is good and quite thick.I do not have time to rerun it for a replacement so will be giving it to him anyway as I doubt he will mind the odd letdown on this item as on the whole it is a good journal, it just needs a little more attention to detail.

Very pleased with my new writing book. Got it for a specific use and as I love dragons, so it was the ideal choice. I did think I was ordering a bigger version, but realised I got the measurements wrong! My error, but have to say, glad I got this size, as it fits perfectly in my draw. Lovely feel and look to it, very pleased overall.

Bought this for my own personal use for my dungeons and dragons character journal and I'm quite pleased with my choice. It has a nice feel to the book almost like an old fashioned rustic notebook which was the exact thing I was looking for. my only real gripe about the book is that it appears to be 5 smaller note books fitted into one larger book but this wasn't enough to truly bother me and I'm gonna look to see for some other designs for my other characters would definitely buy again

This is truly a beautiful purchase. The detail is truly elegant and excellent. The quality is wonderful and it smells just like leather. I can not praise this highly enough. I bought it for personal notes but it's so beautiful I hardly dare use it! Buy one whether it's for you or a gift for someone else. You won't regret it!
