Officiate Your First Wedding: How to Perform Your Friend’s Wedding Ceremony & Not Screw It Up!

Before I even opened the book I noticed the pages didn’t match...like they were trimmed on the edges. Then, upon opening the book I seen it started at Page 5 -14 then went to Chapter 7, Page 29. Looks like a child put this book together...very unprofessional looking. If I can get past the “look” of the book, I will eventually read. I can’t believe I paid $10 for this. May be worth $2 (if that).

This book was perfect for me as this is my first wedding I'm officiating.I gave it 5 stars because it goes through every step in a clear and common sense manner. Its through a voice that is casual and easy to understand. it also mentions aspects of a wedding through his own experiences that other Googled-wedding-answers don't.I liked the formatting and layout of the text and pages. Easy to follow. The best part is that the author gives you and sample script, provides helpful links for more info, and even offers his contact info for any of your feedback and questions.This calmed some nerves. Now I just need to finalize everything I got and am excited!

LOVE this book! If you are even THINKING about buying it, JUST DO IT! This book was extremely helpful in the stressful process of officiating a wedding. I took the advice of this book and I KILLED IT. My friends and their family were so blow away. This book took (most of) the stress away.

All you really need, and the quickest read. I just flagged pages that I needed to remember or reference. Includes Sand Ceremony, unity candle ceremony, Buddhist prose, etc.

Great! I am a first time officiant doing my Mom’s wedding and I was very nervous before reading this book. Definitely helps with what to do when things go wrong or not as planned. Also, it gives great tips and examples for the ceremony itself and what to say.

This is a great resource for learning how to officiate your first wedding. It covers the common mistakes people make and offers excellent advice to ensure the ceremony goes smoothly.

I bought this book for our officiant as a gift when we were asking him to marry us. It’s a small book, but it’s really everything you need to know to not mess up the ceremony. He was so excited to have this book to read to help him!

For a beginner it is a great guide!

I know that this book is intended for people who have not officiated before. But I have to say that Brad does an awesome job pointing out every little thing that "could" go wrong while you are officiating. I have been a wedding officiant for over 10 years and there are a lot things in this book that often escape my mind during a ceremony. Folks will be tempted to skip to the sample ceremony portion of the book, but I seriously & strongly recommend reading through the entire book and TAKE NOTES because you WILL be surprise to find how much of these advise you can actually apply during your ceremonies. I specially like the part about visualizing and reciting the ceremony a few times before the actual wedding.I also like the part regarding the crying babies. This happens a LOT and it's always such an awkward moment. Nobody knows what to do. And the parent of the baby feel bad leaving the ceremony because they don't want to be rude, but at the same time they are ruining the ceremony. So planning ahead for these kinds of things is definitely a MUST! :)
