Different Paint Scheme
Overall, very satisfied with the Taigen Tank. The paint scheme on the tank is different than what is shown on the website. Still, the quality of paint is acceptable. Especially for those who want an RTR tank. Sound affects are very good for a stock tank. The airsoft cannon works well with an average rate of 83% when fired. Sometimes it dry fires because no BB is loaded into the cannon and requires some movement of the tank for the BB to feed correctly. Not a deal breaker. When tank arrived, one of the rocker arms on the suspension was cracked and needed to be replaced. Fortunately, I had some spare parts and repaired it. I have the plastic version of the same tank from Taigen. Decals were easy enough to put on and researched the tank on the net to see where the decals needed to be placed for realism. I feel that the tank is sturdy and should hold up to use but would be mindful of its limitations. The metal suspension is not of the highest quality of metal. Get well versed at replacing the suspension.

It's a beast!
I ended up buying this directly from the importer (IMEX) due to stock issues before Xmas. When it arrived, it was properly double boxed and well protected (even survived UPS delivery). Since it is the "metal" edition, it is remarkably heavy, 11.5lb with NIMH battery installed. It is very, very solid, lots of metal where it matters in the turret and upper hull. Nice rubber on the wheels and the tracks and drive gears are all metal. Can't operate this on the hardwood floors! It moves smoothly enough, takes a little while to get used to how a tank drives versus an RC car with steering servos. It can pivot in place and has proportional control in both speed and turning radius. Traction is great, but beware, due to its heft, you don't want this to drop on hard surfaces as it could damage itself, just operate responsibly. The detail is really top notch. Each tank appears to be hand painted so there will be some variability in the paint schemes ensuring no two takes are identical, which is a good thing. Mine is in the winter scheme. The metal construction allows for a more realistic appearance, after all, nothing looks more like metal than metal. I like that the drive gear, turret and cannon can all move independently of each other at the same time. The sound is a nice addition, there is a dial control on the bottom of my version of the tank that allows the volume to be adjusted. Out of the box, it is way too loud, so you'll want to turn it down. There are proportional sounds for the engine, turret, and the gun when it fires. Oh yeah, this version shoots 6mm plastic BB's with the airsoft cannon. It shoots far and pretty accurately too. Be careful, I was demonstrating in my house to my curious son and accidentally shot him in the chest from 30ft away. Ooops. The little yellow plastic BB's are a bit hard to see since it fires pretty fast. All in all, an expensive model (toy according to the misses) but one of my nicest and coolest RC's. It'll be more of a shelf queen than something I'd bash-n-trash, but it has traversed a few RC crawler circuits and the muddy garden out back. Looks super cool. I'll end up getting more of these Taigen Tanks in the future. Well worth the upgrade to the metal edition.

Good quality except for the decorative accessories
The tank is heavy but to be expected as it is the metal version. I think the suspension springs should be stronger as it can be picky about throwing tracks. I upgraded the smoker as it is loud and the older piston type but it does work fine. My main issue was with the accessories that decorate the tank/body not fitting in the mounting holes. This seems to be due to the paint job on the tank filling in the mounting holes, or could be the accessories just do not have well formed attachment studs.

Excellent detail and heavy
The detailing is great. Well built. The paint is so good, I just want to leave it on display and not chance ruining the paint. Definitely worth the money.
