Beyond Outrage [Blu-ray]

It's crazy good. Those outrageous incidents unfold all the time, so I didn't blink eyes to follow the story. The sequel of this film "Outrage: Coda" is even crazier than this, really.

If you saw the first film, it might confuse you how 2 main characters return from the first film. Well, maybe one didn’t die, and continued his vendettas from the Yakuza clan who cast him out. Like the first, you must pay attention to the way plans & schemes slowly reveal to you WHY all these clans are doing dirty deeds, and paying off the police as they do it. There isn’t really that much karate in these films. Because they use guns, and that’s the kind of violence these films deliver. But there are other executions that, let’s just say you wouldn’t want to be killed by. Regardless, if you liked the previous film, you’re going to enjoy this crime film.

The movies in this series are all really well done. Good acting, good pace, solid action. Every movie in the series is worth watching and owning.

Very good Yakuza movie, if you like watching Foreign movies in their native languages with subtitles then you will definitely enjoy this one but make sure you watch the first Outrage because Beyond Outrage ( I like to call it Outrage Beyond and Outrage 2) is the sequel to that movie and it's very good as well. I just hope there is a 3rd someday! lol Also check out the movies the Raid Redemption and The Raid 2 because they are very good and they're foreign movies as well.

This outstanding (much awaited) sequel to 'Outrage' was fantastic. The movie picks up about 5 yrs later and the action and intrigue is non stop. Kitano has "Otomo, come out to 'play' with Kato, Ishihara, Funaki, Kimura etc... as only he can.The expression "Let's play baseball" now has a whole new meaning to me.All in all a 5 star rating! Kitano doesn't disappoint!p.s. I did watch 'Outrage' again before viewing this as it had been a couple of yrs and it was helpful to me.

Good movie, same tone as the first movie, very real situations. It is not an action movie, 1st half is slow but well done. 2nd half is very well executed and more crude, I think it is better than the first one, but anyway, it is not a fast pack. Image and sound are fine, clear image. Latin spanish subtitles is a must, recomendable movie if you like yakuza's.

Takeshi Kitano headlines another amazing movie. This sequel does not parallel Outrage, the way most sequels do, it goes further. It will take you to unexpected places and the finish is bittersweet. This movie can stand alone, if you have not seen Outrage and live on a deserted island. The incredible timing of the actors makes this an honor to watch.

Zwar ist Outrage Beyond nicht ganz so spannend und schön verworren wie der erste Teil, sehenswert ist er dennoch, weil man erfährt, was aus den wenigen Überlebenden geworden ist. Kato, der den Posten des Kaiju auf unehrenhafte Weise gewonnen hat, ist hier schwer Bedrängnis: Otomo hat den Anschlag auf ihn überlebt und wird nun aus dem Knast entlassen. Um sich an Kato zu rächen, schließt Otomo sogar einen Pakt mit seinem einstigen Rivalen Kimura...Der Hauptfilm liegt dem Mediabook sowohl als BluRay als auch auf DVD bei. Als Extras gibt es noch ein informatives einstündiges Making Of des Films sowie ein ausführliches Booklet. Besonderes schön: Der in Deutschland bislang nicht einzeln veröffentlichte Film „Achilles und die Schildkröte“ liegt ebenfalls als Bluray bei. Der 14. Film von Takeshi Kitano schlägt eine ganz andere Richtung ein als Outrage:Der junge Machisu ist schon als Kind von der Malerei besessen. Durch tragische Umstände wächst er als Waise auf. Als junger Mann studiert er Kunst, aber seine Werke lassen sich nur schwer bis gar nicht verkaufen. Jahrzehnte später, mittlerweile ist er verheiratet und hat eine Tochter, versucht er immer absurdere Techniken um seine Bilder zu malen. Aber der Erfolg will sich einfach nicht einstellen, worunter auch die Familie leidet... Auch wenn der Film einige witzige Szenen hat, ist er vom Grundton her eher ein Drama. Selbstmord ist ein wiederkehrendes Thema, ein großes gesellschaftliches Problem in Japan. Insgesamt lohnt diese seltene Veröffentlichung des Films alleine schon die Anschaffung des Mediabooks.Fazit:*** drei Sterne für "Outrage Beyond"**** vier Sterne für "Achilles und die Schildkröte"***** fünf Sterne für die Kuration des Media Books

If you are into those kinds of films, this one delivers. Understated, with long periods of dialogue followed by intense gunfights and then it all starts again. Nice suits, nice cars, what more could you want in a Japanese gangster movie.

Et oui après avoir vue "Outrage" sortit en 2010/11 chez nous alors que la suite tourné l'année suivante a dut attendre 2016 pour faire son apparition en DVD (trouvé moi une salle de Ciné a QUiMPER ou il joue du Ciné Nippon ?!) , on peut se poser des question entre les 2 films ?!Déjà Kitano les a fait pour être vue assez rapidement l'un après l'autre, et c'est ce que j'ai fait, j'ai remater le 1er avant de voire le 2ème.Gros point forts du 2ème c'est qu'il n'a pas besoin de recapitulatif (comme certaines séries TV) pour qu'on en comprenne son sens en tant que suite.Ensuite si comme moi vous avez remmater le 1er, la grosse déception c'est la musique, non pas qu'elle soit mauvaise, loin de là ! C'est qu'elle n'est pas aussi captivante que celle du 1er film, dont le générique de fin foutait une claque a lui tout seule (1 BO a posséder) .Après il n'y a pas de grande différences, au contraires, entres les 2 films ; je dirait même qu'il se regardent tous les 2 d'afillés sans problèmes.Kitano signe (encore) un chez d'oeuvre dans le monde des "Yakuza" alors même si ce 2ème opus est moins bien que le 1er, si quelqu'un ne crie pas au chez d'oeuvre il n'a rien compris a ce genre de cinéma !PS : Ma vision est un peu extrême mais je trouve que je fait assez de compromis avec les Mangas et les films de séries B, pour dire ce que je pense sincèrement et sans prendre de gants pour un acteur réalisateur de ce gabarit qui mérite plus qu'un succès d'estime en Françe., et cela même si les plus grands cinéphiles le considère comme un génie, ce n'est pas le cas d'une grande partie du public qui devrait se réveiller ! LA preuve le remake de Zatoïchi sortit en 2003 n'a que 20 Coms !!!?
