Review: Hose connections - I wanted to like these a lot as they seem well made, solid brass and pleasantly, no sharp edges left after machining. However, they are a bit difficult to fit. In practice it should be easy, but a few issues. The shoulder on which the hose slips on to is quite short, so any wiggling of the hose could work the hose off. The nylon bush which grips the hose is stiff and a bit of a fiddle to work onto the hose. The worst bit though is the tightening of the knurled nut. Once the hose is on, and the nylon bush in place, there is so little to get the nut started. Once started with about a 1/4 of a turned there is so much resistance, I could not tighten everything up by hand. I had to use pliers and water pump pliers to do it. However, now it’s done, a quick test and it appears to be ok and leak free. These are great. Obviously havent tested longevity, but other brass fittings like these have lasted years. Note that you need to cut the end of the hose as 'square' as you can as there is not much travel on the clamp nut; and the crimping ring is tight, you will need strong hands (warming the hose end might help).
