Works great for my cat!
Since we put down new flooring it has been very difficult trying to find the right mat to go under my cats dishes. She always gets water every where!! So after doing research and hunting ideas down, I found this as an option and it works perfect! I don't care for how long it is but if it were any shorter then it would defeat the purpose of water staying inside, not because of the lip (which is very much needed) but because that extra space is needed for the water to go wherever it wants to go. It completely solves the problem...no more water on the floor!

I use these as shallow water pools for my tortoises and they work very well. The edges are rounded and low enough for hem to get in and out safely. The tread on the bottom helps them keep traction. The brown color blends in to their out door environment. I have put these in the dishwasher to clean, and they held up well. Not sure if they are rated for the dishwasher, but I tried and it worked.

... he was a few months old since he eats like a slob
Used it to keep my kitten's food contained so that it didn't go all over when he was a few months old since he eats like a slob. Worked great! Now this winter we'll use it for our shoes!

It works fine but is nothing special
It works fine but is nothing special, and was overpriced considering I found it in a store for about a third of what Amazon is charging.

Made of lightweight plastic.
Based on the photo, I’d assumed that this boot tray by The Jolly Home was made of rubber – and in my defense, the product listing doesn’t specify the construction materials, so things are left to the buyer’s imagination. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed to find that it’s made of plastic. This wouldn’t be a deal breaker, except that the plastic is very lightweight, and the tray isn’t constructed very well. The bottom is warped and twisted a bit, so that when the tray sits on a flat surface, one corner hovers about a quarter inch off the ground.I suppose that if you’re using it to store two or more heavy items, such as potted plants, this won’t be an issue; however, I’d planned to put it by my patio door to store my shoes, and none of them are heavy enough to press the tray completely flat. Giant rubber boots included.Likewise, if you use this on a plush, carpeted surface, the uneven bottom might not be so glaringly obvious; but all my floors are concrete and tile, so I’m kind of out of luck.Ultimately I decided against using this for my shoes; the spare puppy pad I’ve been using works much better (it even absorbs rain and snow!), and is cuter, too. I put the boot tray in the cat’s room; his food and water bowls only take up a small space in one corner of the tray and, as long as he doesn’t jump down on the opposite end and send them flying into the air, it should work okay.Normally I’d say that you get what you pay for; and, while the current going rate of $13.99 isn’t terribly expensive, this is something I’d expect to find (and might consider buying) in the Dollar Store.** I received a free product in exchange for an honest review. **
