KARRYOUNG Acacia Wood Cutting Board with Juice Drip Groove,Set of 3

When I received these cutting boards I couldn’t wait to use them. After doing some quick research and realizing the boards needed to be oiled with food grade mineral oil before use. The mineral oil helps to preserve the wood and doesn’t allow moisture/water to seep into the wood. It took one day to treat and after that using them has begun. Now one of the boards I got had a crack in it I’m assuming that is because the wood was dry and in need of some lube. The boards are super easy to clean. The manufacture recommends:•not submerging them in water no longer than 10 min (it is wood).•Clean with a damp cloth•Don’t use abrasive material to scrub the boards. I would recommend these boards. Mineral oil was purchased from Amazon.

I've done extensive research on the type of wood, design and sustainability, and of course, price points before deciding on Acacia and buying these boards. In fact, I had to wait for a couple of months as they were out of stock. I made the purchase as soon as they returned at price higher than the current listing.Pros: good-looking (when brand new), nice weights, multiple sizes for different occasionsCons: The package has no indication of the origin and material. After cutting up vegetables for lunch for just 2 people, the boards already looked more scratched and discolored than the cheap bamboo cutting board we got from a discount store that's been used for 5 yrs. The boards are also pretty rough to the touch as if they were not sanded properly.One of the most important qualities I was looking for is a cutting board that does not scratch easily so it wouldn't harbor bacteria. These boards scratch so easily even with such light use - i'm not even sure if it's acacia (with Janka hardness rating of 1700, vs. maple at 1450). I had high hope but am quite disappointed.

Very nice on arrival. Light weight, attractive, nice soft wood for sparing knives. A week or two into regular use, it appears the largest cutting board is coming apart at one of the seams. Will update further if it progresses as I expect it will. It isn't over yet, and maybe I'm wrong.

Recently I went on a wooden cutting board spree, whereby I gradually replaced all my plastic chopping boards with wooden ones. At this price point, this set of boards is the best I've been able to obtain. These have the characteristic sheen of acacia, and are very nicely finished. No splinters, well cured surfaces (so many other boards need significant oiling right after buying), rounded edges. In hindsight, I wish I had just bought two of these sets instead of the other cutting boards I got.

Look great. Great set for food prep.

I ordered the boards because they had the ability to catch the juices from meats. They were much less expensive than other boards so I didn't expect them to be absolutely beautiful – which they are – and totally useful. I can't recommend them enough. I made the mistake of putting my prior board into the dishwasher. Not a good idea for wood! These will never be in the dishwasher. They are so attractive that I plan to use them for entertaining as well as for daily use.
