One very light butane-propane stove that's very small and adjustable.

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 7, 2015*

Indeed as light as a feather (a very large and heavy sub 1-oz feather I suppose) and compact enough to place in a plastic pill bottle alongside a MSR piezo igniter, leaving about 1-1/4 inch of space left over for matches I suppose. The vanes canted over the combustion grid do effect a concentration of flame and heat to about a 1 to 1-1/2 inch diameter upward jet (the cyclone). It ignites very easy at a low setting using the piezo igniter. The three arms fold out and support my selection of pots and cups; a GSI tea kettle dwarfs it but is stable when centered. On mine one arm is looser than the other two when extending them; it did not affect pot support or balance. Simmers fairly well, maybe lower than I have seen in other butane-propane stoves. I am testing it during my volunteer SAR patrols this summer before my JMT fall trip but already from kitchen testing I am pretty sure it will be going - 1) its light, 2) it takes up the least space even with the MSR piezo lighter, and 3) it seems to concentrate the output nicely to about a 1 inch circle spot so just about any pot or cup should come to boil quickly. Now to find the lightest titanium cup that will hold one 13oz dehydrated Mountain House and maybe a GSI mug and still jam everything inton one another. I will call this the "no mad" because its one purchase that didn't leave me angry about something or another; it just seems to be made right. I cut a 3 in dia. bottom heat shield (chicken-pot pie pan, the small one) and cut out a 1-ish in. dia,. hole to place over the butane-propane 110gram and 220 gram fuel cans before screwing down the stove over it. It will serve as a reflected heat shield of sorts to help the fuel can from over heating (and spurting out excess fuel under increased pressure) when the pot reflects too much heat down to the top of the fuel can.

but actually folds out into a pretty stable base for my 900ml titanium mug/pot

This little stove is ridiculously small, and very economically priced. Weighs nearly nothing, but actually folds out into a pretty stable base for my 900ml titanium mug/pot. The heat distribution looks pretty good too for it's small size - it boils 500ml water in under 3.5 minutes in a controlled environment (no wind). Have yet to do field testing but it looks pretty durable to me - I probably wouldn't want to pack it somewhere it might get bumped around or squashed. If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably a little less wind-stable than my MSR pocket rocket, but at basically 1/3rd the weight, that's just fine with me : ) Unless there are any durability issues I give this stove five stars - really excited to hit the trail with it!UPDATE: Dropping my review by a star for a few reasons. I'll continue to use it, but it is LOUD (really really loud), and additionally, when I screw it onto my fuel canister, I have to do it really quickly to keep butane from leaking. I would also only recommend it for tiny and thin pots (definitely <1L)Will update the review if I encounter any issues.

*by R***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 6, 2016*

I just returned from a trip of Cholistan desert and have now decided to carry this on all the trips going forward.....I always carry two from my collection of 5 stoves. It is a wonderful light weight stove and feels like nothing in its case. Flame is concentrated to abut one inch radius but it does its job....a bit noisy compared to others. Folds well and slips into tiny mesh cover. One thing I did not like is its cheap paper cover..... I wished a better cover with nomad life printed on it so that it looks better in storage with my other stoves. Will update the review as I use it more.Update Nov 22, 2016. It is still going great and is always with me on trips. Why shouldn't I take it along when it is literally weighless and tiny.
