This volume, which contains chapters 100 through 113 of the story, is mainly about a school trip to Kyoto. Along the way Komi has a chance to explore a new city and meet new people. I found that this volume continues the enjoyable characters, premise, and humor of the previous volumes. This is bolstered by the introduction of some new characters including the narcissistic Naruse and the rather introverted friends Kato and Sasaki. The overall story continues at an enjoyable pace. While Komi still acts like her usual shy self, she also is forced to act more on her own as she is separated from Tadano during the trip. She also starts to realize that she has feelings for him. As with the previous volumes, I found that the artwork here is top notch with its usual detailed background art and expressive characters. I've often seen social anxiety treated as a joke, where those characters are made the butt of jokes but this one does not. While it's a comedy series, Komi's anxiety is treated with gentleness and the other characters are the targets of the humor, all while still being her friends.
