Heavy-duty construction. Review: Must have for Groundskeepers ! - I looked at a lot of these on desertcart before I decided on this particular one. I have a lot of trees on the property and gravel roads. Bending over all the time was getting old in a hurry. This reacher was the ideal tool. I used it for a few days many hours per day. I was able to pick up things as small as a BB easily. The 32" model was perfect length for walking around and picking up things. I picked up stones along the driveways, trash in the ditch area, sticks on the lawns and bigger branches. The bigger branches are an issue but this tool is not really made to pick those up. I was just testing it's limitations. The black suction cups that screw to the end of the reacher showed no signs of wear. I was picking up things so fast that sometimes the reacher would bounce off the ground. I always was able to pick up whatever it was I was after. I even tried picking up different size rocks. I would say the limitations for weight is about 5 pounds on a guess. The reacher is constructed of box aluminum , plastic handle, rubber suction cups, (not sure what the screw is made of that is used to attach it to the reacher) and the metal bands that bend seem to work fine. I really don't know of anything that can break except maybe the cable or whatever it is that pulls the cups closed and back open. I did not try using it ona light bulb. I'd guess the bulb would break. I rate the 32 inch D.O.T. Reacher 5 stars. I bought a 32" one here and after a few days use I ordered a 40". When I am riding on the John Deere gator with a box on the back and I'm picking up stuff the longer reach will save me from getting off the machine as much. I also ordered an extra pair of black suction cups. Review: Excellent product! - I'm an old guy (72) and it is outstanding for picking up stuff off the floor(shoes, newspapers, ect.). Have always used this product and brand. The one I had broke, but, after 6 years use I sure got my nickle out of that puppy! Solid construction and really tough! We can special order if you need a quantity but we do not keep this in stock as most folks don't order this feature. Mohawk is the best!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dot reacher *by B***N on December 7, 2011* I bought this reacher beacause I have bought 2 other reaching tools in the past and was very dissapointed with them they were the folding kind and they were very flimsely made they wouldent pick up some items that were not even heavy at all and they would drop jars or cans that i'de try to remouve from shelves that I could not reach. I am in a power chair And can no longer walk on my own beacause of diabetes related injuries to my feet. After having dropped several objects on myself beacause of the weak and flimsey reachers I thought there must be something better on the market so I looked on amazon and I saw the ad for the dot reacher. It said it could pick up a 5 LB brick. Well a can of soup or a jar of jelly should be no problem. So I purchased the 32" Dot reacher. The first thing I noticed is that it is of much stronger construction than the previous ones that I bought all though the dot reacher is more expensive you get what you pay for when I grab a can or bottle of olive oil off the shelf it holds onto it with no problem and I no longer drop things on my head or break jars on the counter top. My old ones are now regulated to picking up light weight pieces of paper that the wind blowes into my yard thats about all they are good for they will pick up a small dried up peice of dog poo that some stray might leave in my lawn. My good dot reacher is for around the house allthough it would be vastly superior for yard work too I like to keep it more sanitary. I may just purchase another one some day just for that though. It would be great for remouving small snakes or other creepy crawling things that might bite or sting from your garden or flower bed.. Ilove it....
